colorado -3 bought the hook
in year 4 hawkins cant lose to a mac team with his own recruits and no more excuses like the first 2 years. cody senses his dads urgency and just gets it done. no stats or trends just heart and effort. well see what the hawkins family is made of. im betting they come up clutch on a short week. colorado 38 toledo 20

offensive coordinator ron lee stepped down as the play caller and hands it over to former hawaii QB nic rolovich midweek to focus more on the receivers where they are having problems lining up and reading the defensive coverages. this should be a huge disadvantage for the hawaii offense in the first half for sure and possibly the game and remainder of the season.
brashton satele the starting MLB going into he season is shelved for the year and mana lolotai stepped into his spot in week 1. this week lolotai gets demoted, rj keisel-kauhane moves from OLB to MLB, jake heun moves from OLB to DE and cory paredes moves into heuns vacant OLB spot after being on the bench in week 1. john fonoti and elliot purcell the 2 starting DE going in to week 1 were hurt and now hawaii has heun and liko satele making their first starts at DE and their backups who will rotate are 2 invited walk ons. the front seven is a mess. for weekly updates on hawaii football visit uhblogspot.com. good luck this week to everyone and i hope this helps you out if you are looking at this game.

Clawson was the head coach at the University of Richmond during Brown's two seasons there and the man whose quarterback decision led Brown to transfer to Troy. just thought id pass this info along as this was a very strong play for me and im now locking it in and going big. this is where i want feedback from you guys. does a coach change his overall offensive philosophy from team to team? i believe that although brown will be worrying about his own offense during the first half and not watching the troy d vs. the b green o he will be able to help the troy defensive coaches make half time adjustments if asked about the plays that clawson ran in the first half as he ran his offense for 2 years @ richmond. |

you must not like trends. i cant recall the last time boise lost on the blue turf in the regular season. i think boston college got em in the 05 bowl game and thats it for a very long time.
avery and harper are out of control. and moore is accurate and efficient. i hate this team being from hawaii but they just show up year in and year out.

have you ever considered its to keep new mexico off balance when they prep for tannehill to be holding a clip board and in the first series see him lining up at wideout or taking direct snaps? you never know what to expect in week 1. as of right now we are all right in our own minds and i intend to cash in on this mismatch. whos with me?

its more or less the glaring holes of their opponent and the new coach and schemes.
NEW MEXICO OFFENSE: switching to a no-huddle up tempo offense which is a rhythm based offense. starting QB porterie had a 0-5 ratio last year in a run first offense. they lose leading rusher rodney ferguson. head coach mike locksley was the OC @ illinois under ron zook and if you reference their first year installing this offense @ illinois in 05 they were -11 in turnovers averaging a pathetic 17 PPG while giving up 40 PPG more than likely based on the poor spots the offense put the defense in and i have no reason to see the same type of transition in new mexico with lower caliber recruits @ new mexico. i just dont see a dual threat QB who will not have the time or experience to go through his progressions in a new scheme being effective @ A&M with the crowd noise and newly installed 3-4 scheme that will disguise blitzes. i see alot of false starts and short check down passes. NEW MEXICO DEFENSE: switching from a 3-3-5 to a 4-3 defense might benefit the D but the personnel is not in place and you will have alot of guys playing out of position in 09. they lose their 2 DE and their starting NT from last year along with their top reserve DE. mcpeek returns @ MLB as their leading tackler in 08 but he was nicked up in the spring and have two new OLB to learn this new scheme. they move a LB to SS and the FS returns but they lose 2 NFL corners to graduation. they also lose 5 scholarships each of the next 3 years to NCAA violations. i see crowd noise early forcing NM to give jerrod johnson short fields to work with off of turnovers and 3 and outs. A&M is in the second year under coach shermans scheme and should show improvement on the O-LINE with fewer penalties and bigger holes in the run game. TEXAS A&M 41 NEW MEXICO 17 |

@ minnesota you have a highly touted true freshman marqueis gray trying to steal snaps form adam weber. i dont think we will see anyhing but webers A game against the orange. he has eric decker and the #1 juco player in hayo carpenter at his disposal along with the top 6 rushers back, 4 starters back on the o-line. they have experience an depth on offense. are they really gonna get embarrassed by the orange and the paulus media circus a week before their home opener in their new on campus stadium? "if its too good to be true its probably week one." go get paid.

i really like troy to dominate on the road against a bowling green team that is in a major transition on offense and no returning starters up front on defense. tyler sheehan is a more than capable QB but how does he transition to take snaps under center after taking 100% of the snaps last year from the shotgun. i dont think he is anywhere near the quarterback colt brennan is and brennan is still struggling with his footwork in his drops from under center in his second year in the league and hes getting hands on coaching from jim zorn a former nfl QB. they also graduate 3 starters on their d-line and the 4th starter got kicked off the team in the spring. with a new coaching staff and new schemes on both sides of the ball i look for early struggles and turnovers. troy returns a dual threat QB and also has a wild card in josh jarboe @ wideout who was dismissed from oklahoma last year. they have alot of weapons on offense and with no presence upfront for the BG defense it could be a long day for the falcons. the only concern i have is the troy secondary who will have 3 new starters. the way i see it is sheehan being under center opposed to being in the shotgun will not be able to read the D quick enough like he would out of the shotgun so the secondary might not be exposed to the big play as long as the two defensive ends can produce like they did last year. troy also adds the junior college defensive player of the year in 08 to their front 4 at DT. i would appreciate feedback. this is my strongest play of week 1. look what tulsa did to BG in the bowl game.

florida will come out with a much more vanilla offense than you expect. usc did the same thing with idaho last year with nebraska on deck. florida plays miami in week 2 and i know they are not the same miami team you once feared but its a instate game and they have athletes. this is hawaiis chance to gain a little respect amongst themselves that they can keep the score respectable against a top notch opponent after dropping the ball against georgia. the first year coach out of the wac has alot to take from this game and will play his starters the entire game and leave it all out on the field and meyer will be pulling his players at half and mid 3rd to preserve them for the sec schedule. this game will be alot closer than you think.

biggest personel mismatch on the board.
rice and lovelace tore them up last week and army knew rutgers was running it on every play.
todd graham will continue what rutgers exposed on the ground but they have an added demension with paul smith who will also light you up through the air and tulsa is clicking right now.
the only game army cares about is navy next week and also theyve dropped 8 of 9 on senior day with an average loss by 17.

he sat out monday and threw very few passes as graunke and funaki got all the snaps. if youve ever been to a hawaii practice they throw about 200 passes a practice so if you consider 10-15 throws getting reps with the second string than believe what you want.
when colts healthy and graunke is second string he gets about 50-60 throws.

there was a similar scenario @ home vs. charleston southern early in the year with colt. he had a ankle injury and he was a game time decision and sat the whole game. june jones got you by the balls if you think colt plays tonight. hes just fucking with nevadas gameplan. why would he not give a clear cut starter on the road where theyve been struggling. the team knows who their rallying around and its graunke in my opinion. ive folowed this team very closely this year and if im wrong id be very very shocked.

Wahine vs. Nevada FridayPosted On: November 16th, 2007 by Cindy LuisFirst serve in about 15 minutes (It’s 150 in Hawaii) Category: UH Volleyball | 10 Comments » Kickin’ it with Keenan Jones/Colt’s look-alikePosted On: November 16th, 2007 by Dave ReardonRENO, Nev. >> For those who didn’t know it already, Keenan Jones showed once again that he is one of the UH football teams best athletes — that is if you consider 50-yard punts with hang time and 40-yard field goals athletic. The backup cornerback put on a kicking display at yesterday’s walk-through. Of course, it was with the wind behind him. He tried one punt into the breeze and it went about 20 yards. Other “highlights” from the walk through: * Cornerback Ryan Keomaka long-snapping * Long-snapper Jake Ingram receiving the snaps from Keomaka, while wearing Colt Brennan’s No. 15 orange jersey. “I’m not Colt Brennan, I’m Yul Brenner,” Ingram said, which is very funny, although I’m not sure exactly why. Maybe it’s because Ingram has a full head of hair, looks nothing like Yul Brenner and is 22 years old and has actually heard of Yul Brenner. * The real Colt Brennan (more on his look-alike later) wearing Ingram’s 57 green jersey and throwing a few passes. *** I’ve heard that a wager or two is made in this town from time to time. Right now, at 11:30 a.m. Pacific Time, you would still have to give a few points if you want to place a bet in a casino on Hawaii beating Nevada tonight. The line is dropping like snow in the Sierras in January, but it hasn’t turned over to Wolf Pack-favored status, at least not yet. If that were the case, it would tell you everything you need to know about whether Colt Brennan is playing or not. *** There’s a guy here at the Silver Legacy who is almost the splitting image of Colt Brennan. It’s scary. UH should hire him to be Brennan’s decoy. If Colt doesn’t want to sign autographs or otherwise be mobbed, this guy looks enough like him that a lot of casual fans would be fooled. The most notable difference is this dude has linebacker arms. I ran into someone close to Brennan last night. When I told the person that there was a Colt look-alike in the hotel, the person laughed and said, “Can he play tomorrow?” *** |

listen to yourself primo. thats what you want to happen. colt aint gonna play bro. fuck the respect, if he takes another blow to the head and goes out of the game because he was in there playing for the respect and to keep the stands filled there goes his name sliding on draft day because hes such a team player. if youre a real fan you would have faith in the team without him. you sound like youre giving nevada the win if he dont play.
