Yeah, not a bad ploy coach but there's little between them with the books. I'm leaning towards the Yanks but don't know much about the available relief pitchers. Any info on that would be useful.

I like the look of the Yankees batting but don't know how tonight's pitchers match up.

What does everyone think?

Blues let me down last week with a mistake riddled penalty bloodbath of a performance. And they still walked away with a draw! Much has been said about the improvement shown by the Reds but to be honest the Blues did everything in their power to hand them that game. Reds have to show a lot more before I'm prepared to acknowledge that they are half decent.

This week is a must win game for the Waratahs after copping a shellacking (no, not on the final scoreboard) from the Highlanders, who incidentally played a magnificent 1st half. Looks like Foley (and probably Gill unfortunately) will be back and Tahs will be much better balanced as a result. Yes the game is in Brisbane but if Tahs can't put up a 7 point better performance than the Blues did then they're not a hope in Hades of winning this comp.

I'm getting in early and I'm having a little extra on because the price is too tempting.

Sorry serg, didn't see your post until well after the event. I'll check my thread more often in the future. Lets just say I was pleased with the result. Looks like you might have found a winner there so well done to you.

The Blues were actually backed in to -7.5 by kick-off but even getting the early number of -5 didn't help the cause.

Blues were back to all their old habits, spilling the ball and giving away penalties. This didn't surprise me but what did surprise me was that Reds were much improved in their discipline. I don't know what the penalty count ended up but it was way too high against the Blues to allow them to cover the spread.

I like the info I get from Donbest.com particularly in regards to umpire stats. Also look at parkfactors.com for wind direction and velocity at each ground.

Very tough round coming up. Reds last week should have pinched the game from the Rebels and should be shot for not getting a field goal attempt away in the closing couple of minutes. This was just one of many poor options taken during the game (what was that Fijian winger thinking?). Rebels played badly but every time they got inside the Reds half they were gifted 3 points through Reds lack of discipline. Anyone unfortunate enough to have watched the game would presumably agree that Reds are undisciplined, unskilled, disorganised and lacking in flair. Their only saving graces are their set pieces, with both their scrum and lineout solid but not overpowering, and their goal kicking which is good.  

The Blues, after a good 1st round performance have subsequently slipped back into their mistake riddled play of recent seasons. Provided they show a little patience and respect for the ball they should have too many points in them for the Reds to match. I'll be very surprised if Tana lets this one slip through his fingers. My main concern is that Kerevi, who has been quiet, is due to carve someone up. If he is contained Queensland will again struggle for points and the Blues should be able to run up at least 30.

I'm getting on early as I think the Blues will firm before kickoff.

Been away all week (swimming in 27C surf, heaven) so haven't done as much revision as normal and write-up is similarly short. Chiefs are genuine contenders, Kings are woeful. Can't see Kings finishing within 25 but my book is offering skinny odds at moment. Currently holding off but Chiefs will be my bet and if you can snap up the -16.5 that's around then jump on it.

Suns have gone ok against some good sides in GS and Spurs but I don't know if that's them lifting or being taken too lightly. Often with these big spreads I'll take the 1H line to avoid the dreaded backdoor cover but in this game I simply don't see Suns finishing within 20.

Bugger - I was just about to lock in and it went to -14.5. I'll sit at the moment.

Heat always beat them and are on a roll. I'll be surprised if Suns stay within 20 but maybe I'm reading it wrong.

Rarely take props but am considering Cousins > 29.5 pts v Mavs also. 

Any thoughts on these?
