replied to Aust 1 day side in Other For this to happen ,we need the Sheffield Shield to be the pinnacle building ground that it deserves to be and once was.Test players playing for states between internationals,former greats getting involved with technique and career advice and promotions done to lift the profile of the 4 day game.This is the best breeding ground of all but because of the costs involved it comes down to a loss for the ACA.The money would be well spent however because with consistent high competition we would be the envy of world cricket again,and get that feeling of the Lillee ,Chappell era again.I'm sure players are there somewhere. replied to Aust 1 day side in Other No argue of the above.With the opportunity to provide 3 teams 20/20 1 day and test teams the selectors need to use these games to introduce players earlier in their careers.Fans do not want to see Clarke batting practice sessions ,they want to see action in these shorter forms.Give the test team the best 5 day players,1 day team best one day players and 20/20 youth and aggression.Only Watson ,Johnston and very few others should overlap with 3 specialist captains picked for very different forms of cricket.
