Major revenge for a very talented and well tested UNC team, against untested and inexperienced Texas. Texas played only 1 true road game this season and they needed overtime to beat a young Temple team despite leading by 11 at the half. Not a surprise given their inexperience. 17 turnovers, 14 missed free throws and only 4-14 from downtown in that game. North Carolina missed 19 free throws against Kentucky the other day, made only 3 three pointers but still won that game by 5. Key word: turnovers. They are simply winning the turnover battles big lately.

Oakland +5.5
I am going with Oakland +5.5, but be careful and do not bet your house on it, because my only loss in NFL this season came last week when I went against KC. First, I like divisional home dogs in last 3 weeks of the season. Oakland played a non divisional game on the road last week and they play on the road next week, against a team they already beat earlier this season. This is an isolated home game for them, with revenge on mind against a divisional rival. Only pride on the line, but for a young team like the Raiders it is easier to play without pressure. Last week they had more yards than Jets both on the ground and in the air, but lost that game because they were clearly rusty early on, because of that early start and longer than usual layoff after the Thanksgiving Day game. Once they woke up they started playing well but it was too late to challenge the Jets. This week it is a different story, as they play at home against a well known opponent, in perfect football weather. The Chiefs went to Washington last week and completely dominated a bad Redskins team. I was on Washington and that was my first NFL loss this season. When a team allows 2 special unit TDs and commits 2 key turnovers, nothing else can be expected. KC just took advantage of Redskins mistakes, without doing too much themselves. It will take more than that in Oakland. I expect a closer game this week. Good luck.

Both offenses had great game Sunday but both spent a lot of time on the field. Broncos offense spent over 39 and Chargers offense spent almost 37 minutes on the field. With only 3 days of rest for both teams, high altitude and cold weather expected in Denver, I expect defenses to take over at some point. Denver playing for the #1 seed, San Diego playing for the playoffs, important game for both teams, and in important games defenses usually step up. In their first meeting of the season Manning and Rivers combined for 44/65, 548 yards, 5 touchdowns and no interceptions, the rushing units produced over 200 rushing yards combined and the game still went under the total.

Officially a neutral site game, but Duquesne played 11 games there since 2010, including a game against Pittsburgh earlier this season (SU loss, ATS win) as well as a game against Penn State two seasons ago (SU win, ATS win). Duquesne had extra rest to prepare for this game, while Penn State is playing their 3rd game in 9 days and 7th game in 18 days. Penn State sent Marchall players to the free throw line 30 times in their last game (at home) and they had 44 FTA against 65 FTA for their opponents in last two games. Not a good thing going away from home to face a team that went to the line 76 times in last 2 games (their opponents only attempted 41 free throws).

Utah is looking ahead to their big rival BYU and since Utah moved to Pac 12 these rivalry meetings with BYU are happening only once a year. Last two seasons Utah was young and looking for their own identity, and they were not really looking ahead to BYU, but this season the things are different. Many see Utah as a team on the rise, and they are a big favorite here before hosting BYU. They are better than in last few years, but according to Sagarin ratings their strength of schedule is dead last in Div.I so they have not been tested yet.

The way I see it, BC is underachieving and USC is overachieving. The teams that beat BC this season are 41-4 combined this season. Their last game was horrible, and I expect this relatively experienced team to bounce back against inexperienced USC team that spent a week off after spending a week or so in Nassau.

Looks like the first loss of the season. Washington players forgot they had a game to play today. Easiest play (loss) this season.

It is always hard to risk money on cold teams like Washington, but as I said several times before, I like to bet on teams that were embarrassed the previous week, and Washington is that team this week. Maybe their loss last week was not a blowout, but it was their 2nd straight home loss, and it came against a hated divisional rival, right after a MNF blowout loss. They are out of the playoffs picture and they are now playing for next season jobs. They do not want to hear it from their home crowd again this week. Their next game is in Atlanta against another team eliminated from the playoffs so if I have to chose one game where they have to show up, it is this third straight home game after two home losses. They are still #1 in the NFL in rushing yards and just like KC, they are outrushing opponents week after week, while they get outpassed on regular basis. As for KC, all I hear about them this week is people saying that they can not lose four in a row, that A.Reid is their edge over the Redskins and so on. Well, I do not agree. If they were able to win 9 in a row, and then lose 3 in a row, they are definitely capable of losing another one. As for A.Reid, I will only say that he coached Eagles last season and that his schemes were not working against Griffin. In two games against Philadelphia defense he was 30/39 for 398 yards, 6 touchdowns and 1 interception. Kansas City played three emotional divisional games in a row, lost their defensive mojo and 3 important starters in the process, gave everything they had against Denver last week and now they are on the road where they will face a team outside of their conference, before another divisional game on the road. I just do not see them motivated today. Washington +3 is my play.

new mexico state is talented and year after year they bounce back well after losing to new mexico. they are also a team that has not lost three in a row in almost two years and they faced that situation 4 times during that period. they lost three games this season, all three by single digits. they have that ability to keep it close in losses. last season they lost 10 regular season games, 7 of those 10 by single digits. two years ago 8 of their 9 regular season losses were again close, by less than 10 points.overall, in 23 of their last 26 regular season losses they stayed withing 9 points of the winner. as always, i can only admire gonzaga and what they do year after year. they are still a very good shooting team despite losing two powerfull offesive players from last season, but with a trip to western virginia coming up for them i will go with new mexico state +13.
