His method of calling games is typically american in my opinion. Overblown and senseless, full of cheap sayings and volume. Needless to say i am not looking forward to his calls (in any sport) and i think FOX is making a big mistake with this move. If anything they should've hired Alexi Lalas or something to take this on. created a topic Gus Johnson calling the Champions League... in Soccer Just read online that Fox is grooming Gus Johnson to become the voice of soccer on Fox. This is an abomination. I hate Joe Buck but honestly this man is the most obnoxious voice in college football and college basketball. The way he yells during a big play makes me want to vomit. Supposedly he will be calling the Feb. 13th Real vs Man U match from the Bernabeu and the Feb. 19th Arsenal vs Bayern match. I am disgusted that Fox would think this is the right option. The article mentions that he'll probably be calling the world cup as well.... What are they thinking??? By his own admission, he knows very little about international soccer, or soccer in general. Honestly, this has potentially made the next 8 years or so of soccer on Fox nearly unbearable.... replied to One thing i dont understand in NBA Betting I agree that this aspect is interesting to say the least. One would think that there are only a few places that this info regarding player availability could come from ie coaches, team doctor, team beat writers etc... Assuming this, you'd have to then assume that the info does NOT initially go to the public. Obviously there isn't too much lag on the info, but by the time it does become "public" Vegas has already adjusted itself to limit any exposure. Somehow there is a direct conduit for this info that sends it to the oddsmakers first... I'm guessing there isn't a good explanation for this and there probably never will be.
