replied to Marbach's Basketball Wednesday (+9.9 Units YTD) in NBA Betting Thanks fellas....Very big slate tonight. *NBA Wednesday* *5 Units- New Jersey Nets (-2.5) over GS Warriors* I know what many of you are thinking, how in the world can you back the Nets as favorites against anyone?! Well, the same thing happened last week when the Wizards took down the Raptors as 2.5 point favorites. However, the fact of the matter is that the Warriors are in the midst of a long road trip, coming off a hard fought win last night, and the Nets are actually playing a bit better and well rested. While they are 1-3 in their past 4 games, they have been competitive with the Clippers and Jazz (closer than the final scores indicate), beat the Suns on the road, and lost by 8 points at Denver. Deron Williams has not been playing his best ball lately, but look for him to bounce back with a strong game as the Warriors really have nobody to guard him. Kris Humphries should be able to be physical with David Lee and provide him some problems. Composite- No worries, see where your coming from, but while I personally believe they will win outright, the fact is they can still lose by 4 or less and the play still hits obviously. Anyways, tonight is a new night and let's get straight to the picks and make some money! Tuesday Recap 4 Units- Wizards- Winner 3 Units- Bucks- Winner 3 Units- TWolves- Loser 3 Units- Cavaliers- Loser 2 Units- La Salle- Winner 2 Units- Providence- Winner Overall- 4-2 (+4.4 Units) YTD- 4-2 (+4.4 Units) Wednesday Selections NBA 5 Units- Los Angeles Clippers (+4.5) over Miami Heat I know it is very tough to bet against Miami Heat because if you lose, you are just thinking, "Wow am I stupid for betting against them." However, as we saw last night in an outright loss to Golden State, the Heat seem to bring out the best in their opponents, as everyone is looking to take a shot at knocking them off. While the Warriors were undermanned and still willed their way to a win and cover, the Clippers on the other hand have all the talent needed. Blake Griffin is a matchup nightmare for Chris Bosh and one of LeBron James/Dwayne Wade will have to guard CP3 in order to keep him in check, which will in turn lead to less energy they can exert on the offensive end. This is not even mentioning the fact that the game yesterday did go to overtime, so they were probably arriving in Los Angeles in the wee hours of the morning. The Clippers are looking for a signature win and I look for them to get it here. replied to New to Covers, Please Read (w/Picks) in NBA Betting There is definite value in the Mavs today, the Pistons are horrible, played last night, etc. I was strongly considering playing them, but the Mavs inconsistencies while trying to incorporate new faces into their system scared me off. Personally, I will wait until the season is about 15-20 games in to start playing Dallas mainly because of the chemistry factor, but nonetheless, I would not be surprised at all to see them win and cover tonight. replied to New to Covers, Please Read (w/Picks) in NBA Betting Thanks for all the support guys, in regards to WSH being more talented, they definitely are a lot more talented than Toronto. Granted, talent obviously is not what wins games alone (as evidenced by the Wizards record), but in terms of potential, John Wall and Javale McGee's potentials are both through the roof, as they are loaded with talent. Andray Blatche is also extremely talented, he just has not put it together yet (and who knows if he ever will), and Nick Young is an extremely talented scorer. On the flip side, The Raptors essentially have two big time talents, Bargnani (don't know how to spell his name) and DeRozan. Calderon is hit or miss and Ed Davis is very raw.
