Now, after considering a $1000 wager for a futures Stanley cup wager, I would not bet on Dallas or Colorado at the odds offered today. You would be better off to bet those teams to win their playoff matchups and parlay the winnings on the next series + continue to build your bankroll through the conference playoffs and then a final wager a the cup finals. Only teams I see value wagering for the cup are Tampa Bay 13-1 or Winnipeg at 13-1. I think the Stanley cup winner comes from the western conference this season. |

I already have futures bets on Dallas for the conference and cup finals. Considering the fact Dallas has been to the conference finals in back to back years, I think this team learnt alot last season about themselves and their character...The addition of a bona fide game changer in Rantanen to their roster, coupled with an additional playmaker in Granlund gives the stars some deep forward depth that was lacking in last years playoffs. It also sends a strong message to the players from management that the time to win is now, The fact Seguin (expected return mid April) and Heiskanen (expected return March 31st) will return in time for the playoffs will be an additional boost to the roster. I expect the team to continue their solid regular season, and take a run at the Winnipeg Jets for the division lead. Dallas trails the Jets by just 8 points with 2 games in hand, with 2 games against the Jets on their schedule (March 14th + April 10th). I think both Dallas and Colorado have made the best moves at the trade deadline, cementing themselves as the 2 best teams in the west. Edmonton looks like they have regressed to me since last season, their goaltending + defense around the net is suspect. Vegas has the grit and size to be a tough out but this season Vegas looks like they are missing a couple of depth players to be taken as a true contender when looking at their forward depth compared to Dallas and Colorado. Will be interesting to see how these last 20 regular season games are played out, and how the newly acquired players fit with Dallas and Colorado. |

I guess that's why Ohio St. is favored by 10 points. |

Well there is a 95% chance of snow in Philadelphia at game time accumulating up to 3".. This will impact the game no matter how you look at it. 1. Field Conditions: Snow can make the field slippery and reduce traction. This typically benefits the defense, as defenders can react more quickly to offensive movements. Offensive players, especially receivers and running backs, may struggle with footing. 2.Visibility: Heavy snowfall can reduce visibility, making it harder for quarterbacks to see receivers and for players to track the ball. This can hinder offensive plays, particularly passing. 3.Running Game: Snowy conditions often lead teams to rely more on the running game, as passing can become riskier. Teams with strong running offenses may find success, while teams reliant on passing may struggle. 4. Game Strategy: Coaches may adjust their strategies based on weather conditions. In snowy weather, teams may opt for a more conservative approach, which can favor the defense if they can anticipate and counteract the offensive plays. 5. Player Experience: Teams with players experienced in snowy conditions may perform better. Familiarity with handling the ball and executing plays in adverse weather can be advantageous. In summary, while snowstorms can present challenges for both offenses and defenses, they often tend to favor the defense due to the impact on player movement and visibility. However, teams that can adapt their strategy effectively may find opportunities to exploit the conditions. |

Why would Montana St. not punt that ball with a minute left? Montana St. gets the ball to start the 2nd half, but cannot stop NDSU. Absolute clown show going for it 4th and 5 and their QB Mellott can't complete a pass (3/7 for 17 YARDS)..This was a bad coaching decision PERIOD. What happens next? NDSU marches down the field and scores a TD.. Montana St. down 21-3 going into halftime.. I think that's far too many points to spot NDSU going into halftime. Looks like Montana St. is in big trouble... |

I had bet a $100 across the board in a turf race at Belmont on a horse that went off at 99-1 in a 12 horse field 3 years ago. He won by 3 lengths. 3 minutes later he was disqualified and placed last. Needless to say, I was pissed |
