3-1 for the season

Bull -2.5

I like how the new Bulls coach has really balanced playing time and it has made this team alot more deep.  Detroit is off to a good start but this is the start of the season and I am not sold that they are anything special.  The Bulls are one of the best in the east and this line as well as the last one against the nets is a joke.  Surprised they are not getting more respect than this.

Leaning on atlanta -4.5... feedback is appreciated

Im with you I got it at +1500.


Think of how frustrated this OKC team has been in the past couple years. Injuries mid playoffs last year, you really think westbrook and durant will comeback and be ok with throwing another year away...We are talking about the reigning MVP here. 

Above people have commented they will need to go 37-15 or 43 - 20 for the 3/4 of the season that is left and that will be hard...This team, almost the same exact team was 59-23 last season.  So 43-20 is very achievable, thats winning 2 out of 3 games, so possible.

Plus you have had this whole OKC team developing its bench, role players and stars (Ibaka) while Durant and westbrook are injuried.  That just makes this team more deep and will allow for easier re-integration of KD anf RW back in the line up.

OKC knows everyone is writing them off this will be motivation, you think we cant do it, watch us.  I feel people underestimate KD's level of compete, he is up there with Kobe.

Like many others out there in the NBA world I had hope for this team.  I remember seeing this team about 3 seasons ago and saying wow they could be something special in the future.  Griffin and Jordan can develop there games tremendously, Paul can become the leader and Crawford is solid off the bench.  However, return to future day and nothing has really changed.

So WTF has happened? Let's break it down

1. Where are the winners?

If you look at the previous 15 NBA champions, every single one of those teams had players who were main pieces on the team that had been deep in the playoffs and understood what it took to win.  Look at the clips the only guys that have been or won a final is barnes, glen davis and turkoglu. The last 2 are not going to show the team anything and sorry barnes you should not be starting or even getting that many minutes a game.  Paul, made 1 mini run with the hornets and thats it.  You want to win? Bring in role players winners that can still contribute.

2.  Shitty role players

You had bledsoe coming off the bench..nah we dont like him we want reddick.  You had collison to back paul... nah we will let him go and get farmer, huh?  I thought you wanted to win a championship and you let go of collison?  Reddick and Barnes are role players not starters!!!!!  Like you are telling me you couldnt find anyone better to play the 2 and 3 position other then these 2 clowns...smh

3.  Can you play some defense?

Everyone is blaming doc for ruining the clips.  He preaches defense first and to my opinion thats what wins you championships.  Like I said above look at the previous 15 nba champions all their coaches were heavy defensive coaches and were ranked in the top 5 in def rankings.

But the clips dont want to buy in.  Like Jordan, you are huge but play like a lazy piece of crap.  This guy should be like the best defensive player ever year but lacks the basketball IQ to do anything.  Griffin is the same,  pretty boy who thinks he is MJ cause he has a crappy looking jump shot,  MAKE SOME STOPS BRO!!!!  Ya your points are up from last season but you get owned on the defensive end of the floor.  Paul step up!!! You act like you think you are the best PG leader to play in the NBA. Yet, you havent won anything.  This guy is so streaky, if he could just step up and take control of this team they would be 7-2 right now.  Stop throwing tantrums and arguing all the time with refs, you are the vet of this team start acting like it.

Ya i saw your other post in clippers thread.  I feel like memphis is missing one piece to put themselves in the mix.  They have playoff experience, they were in the west final 2 years ago with basically the same team core.

Dallas is also a good bet right now at about 13 to 1.  Only team that can take it from the west is chicago...if and thats a big IF derrick rose can stay healthy.

Hi Guys,

Wanted to get some opinions on OKC to win championship.  My line is at 15 to 1, so I decided why not and jumped on it.

I personally think the westbrook and durant injury will help OKC in the long run because it is forcing guys that usually dont play to get comfortable with being in the game in crucial moments.  

As long as durant or westbrook can return by xmas and be effective they will grind their way back into the playoffs.  Also, they will have a big chip on their shoulders as everyone has already written them off.

Didnt have time to post the last couple days but still got some good picks in and got back on track.  So lets got on with sunday


Kings -1.5

Pretty obvious pick here.  I have been riding the kings all season and they have been great for me.  In basketball if you got a guy scoring you go back to that play until the defense figures out how to stop him. Same with the kings ride them till they get some respect with the spread or lose a game.  This team is growing every game.  OKC is still beat up but can be competitive, I expect a tight game but the lack of depth on OKC will be a factor.

GS +1

Everyone has GS, I know.  But it just makes sense to me. Alot of people are talking about the offensive match up, that being the guards on the suns can score with the guards on GS.  But can they play defense like GS.  I think if GS is not too tired from a yesterday that their defense will make the difference.  Dragic meet clay thompson.

Great write up and ya publics money is heavy on GS.  I think though you are really looking at the offense only.  GS is much improved on defense and thats what seperates great teams from good teams.  Advantage GS on defense, but this will be a tight game.

so hit yesterday with washington but was stupid and decided to make a small bet on cleveland last minute...bad idea especially since it hurts my record.

Heat +2

Ya my bookie has it at +2 so I will take it.  Both teams on B2B, Miaimi off its first lose and i dont think they want to make it 2 in a row.  Bosh played about 30 mins last night when he has been playing 38-40 so it seems like they were preparing for this game last night. To me charlotte still looks lost on offense, besides jefferson and neal, not many buckets being put in by everyone else.  Lance Stephenson 2 points last night...  You cant start a game and get only 2, kemba 11...slumping.  Take miami

Raptors +1

Yes raptors on a B2b I know.  But look at their minutes from last night, no one really played over 30 mins,  Valanciunas play 12 mins..  They should be fine and fatigue shouldnt be a problem since they are young.  And since they are young this is a good match up cause the celtics are also young.  To me this match up is 2 teams that are very similar, toronto is just deeper, more disciplined and overall a bit better at each position, besides at PG where I give the advantage to Rondo, but Lowry is no chump.

Memphis +1

Not much to say here, phoenix played last night and lakers gave them a run for their money.  Memphis is playing extremely solid team ball and will once again grind out another game, slow down the fast paced suns.  If the suns can play the half court they got a chance but advantage grizz.

Cavs -4.5

Last night was pathetic!!!!  James 11 points 4 for 12, Irving 9 points 3 for 17, holy crap thats bad shooting.  I am more pissed about the lack of defensive effort.  Lebron knows that they will have a learning curve in this first 15 games.  But if you cant beat teams like the Jazz tonight with the amount of talent you have then forget it. They should come out strong, lebron should take over this game if he sees it slipping.  You cant be a top team and lose to bottom of the pack teams like the jazz. Cavs rally and win

So another 1-1 night on monday. Dallas blew a huge lead which cost me but got to even with the Kings and made some cash betting the colts but thats another story.

Only one pick tonight cause I want to win!!! I will take 1-0 over 3-2 2-2 or 1- 1 anyday of the week so lets get into it.

Wizards +1.5

As long as Gooden doesnt shoot a bunch of 3's were good lol jk...But honestly great match up for Wizards here.  new york is weak at the guard, John Wall should take advantage.  I also like Gortat and Nene better then Amar'e and Dalembert. Overall washington is just more athletic and bigger at every postion.  Otto Porter is breaking out and is athletic, Temple is breaking out and is also athletic.  Who is going to guard these guys on the Knicks??  Shumpert, Jr Smith, carmelo from time to time...Other then Melo washington has a better match up at every postion and is playing good team ball. ****Pierce ejected last game, expect big things from him.  Pierce is a glue guy he doesnt even have to be on the court and he gives his teammates confidence.  This guy is vocal and brings a winning veteran attitude that this team really needed.
