Mexico seems to be the popular play @arkadymo - While Donovan is probably the best US player on the field. I think the current best US player and the future is the younger Stuart Holden, Bolton Wanderers player of the year. created a topic Gold Cup thoughts in Soccer Just thought Id give my thoughts on this game since it seems to be a matter of fact that Mexico will kill the US...I think a lot of people still have the US/Panama loss from the group stage in our heads and are combining that with the "stars" that Mexico posses and assume we will be killed. However since that Panama game, the US has not given up a goal and the back line has been terriffic, specifically Cherundolo. Mexico has struggled in their quarterfinal and semifinal matches as well and while the US always has trouble scoring goals themselves, they are usually a very organized (sometimes boring) side that doesnt take many risks like the other Concacaf sides. This always frustrates the Mexicans which is why they always struggle against the US outside of Mexico. Playing in front a pro Mexican crowd in the US is nothing new to this team. The key to this game to me is obviously the first 15 minutes. I dont know if its a mental thing or what, but we all know the United States struggles to start, they get out of that and get comfortable, they will be ok. Final Score 1-1...Howard is great on PK's and Mexico isnt..US wins on PK's. Best of luck to everybody. very pumped for this game. created a topic Saturday Plays in Soccer Record 8-5-2 Reading DNB (2.02)- Reading won 5 straight league games while forrest doing just the opposite with 1 point in last 5. Like my chances on not taking a loss. Rochdale DNB (2.06) - Rochdale havent lost in 6 and are a quality away side against colchester who have lost 6 of 9 games. Norwich and Brentford NTL (1.98) - Brentford won the last meeting against their oppenent Swindon who havent won in 18 games. Norwich havent lost in 9, won of the best away sides in the Championship and I think they can steal a point. Chesterfield DNB/Rayo Vallecano ML(2.10) Lille and Rennes DNB (2.28) - Lille havent lost in 5, won last meeting against Manaco, Rennes have only lost once in 7 while their opponent have lost 4 straight. created a topic Tuesday Plays in Soccer Record 6-5-2 Rochdale DNB (1.94) - Notts playing absolutely horrible, still taking the DNB cause crazy things happen in the lower leagues. Southampton ML/Wycome NTL (1.89) - If im not mistaken hampton need this win to stay in the promotion zone against a poor form, poor away side. Not touching those champions league games but looking forward to watching Madrid - Tottenham, my two favorite european teams.
