replied to Golden Probably Lost The Game for FAU... in College Basketball @jesron1269 I haven't commented in years but had to login just to say that this is a horrible mindset about sports. And yes I played/started 4 years of D1 college basketball. I agree that guy will feel horrible about missing the front end of the 1 and 1 and will blame himself for losing. But the loss is not all his fault. What about the guy that jumped on the shot fake and let his guy drive by on that final NW possession? They were still winning by 2 at that point, just needed to get one stop. Or how about the guy that didn't step up and help stop the drive to the basket on the NW last shot? Or the guy that didn't contest the shot better? Or all the other guys that missed free throws earlier in the game that could've hypothetically had them already up by more than one possession? There's so many variables that go into winning a basketball game. And yes he had a chance to closet it out and missing a free throw near the end of the game really hurts.
