Bama is #1. They are not the same team as they were last year. They are number 1 now, but they won't be number 1 at the end of the season. I predict them to lose to a SEC team. They will most likely fall at the SEC Championship game. I think Bama will win this, but only because Mark Ingram will have to bail McElroy out of a hole. Florida covers. |

Traditionally I would never back a team that just had a fire such as what happened with Jimmy Ray with the 49ers. Atlanta also seems to be hot right now.

Furthermore, I can live with losing on Houston, an up and coming team rather than on a team that's likely to win 4 or 5 games like they have the last 7 years.... This sounds alot like the 49ers and Saints monday night game. But, we know know how that story turned out against KC. I say Houston wins this one. They may not be Super Bowl bound but they are a better team than the Raiders. Good teams can play consistent. The Raiders are not one of those teams. Play good one day, play like crap the next. However, I have been known to eat my words from time to time. |

I like this game right here. Especially after the Saints lost at home. Just looking at a few stats, Carolina is last in the league in points scored and next to last in yards gained. That said, they have yet to find any efficiency on offense and I don't believe they will find it on their way to New Orleans. I think the Carolina offense can be limited. They seem to be one demisional right now - only with a run game. Statistics aside, I don't think we have seen the Saints play to their full potential yet. In the next game or two I can see the Saints unleashing some of the points they were putting up last year (even without Reggie). With the Saints losing last week at home, I think will be a motivational factor for the Saints to unleash on the Panthers in the Superdome. This one covers for the home team no matter what Carolina's ATS record is. I look at the Saints as a sleeping giant that will wake up this Sunday. Not a Saints fan, in fact I was happy as hell to see them lose. Welcome back to reality. |

I just started a challenge that involves picking 13 straight winners. It is somewhat risk free so long I win wager number 1. If I can make it all the way through I will have made over $10,000. Once the first game is won, I'll take my initial wager out and just use the winnings from there on out - making it it risk free. The wager plus the winnings will be totalled and bet on the next game I select. If you only bet on games that you thought were "locks" what is the best you can do. My "lock" for last week was PHI -3 @ JAX which won. Has anyone ever attempted doing anything like this at all. I have 2 wins so far in this challenge. |

I'm am really feeling OSU at home too. They may even cover the 18 point spread ..... twice.

I think I may lean on N.O. Saints to bounce back against a struggling Carolina. Carolina is last in points scored and near last in yards gained. I don't see N.O. letting their fans down for a 2nd week in a row against an inferior Carolina. I'll give 13.5 points and back the Saints in this one. |

Is it me or is this a soft line posted on Covers? Indianapolis seems to be rolling along doing there thing not having problems putting up points. Jacksonville on the other hand seems to be having problems getting points on the board. I think the line should be around -10 to -13 if you ask me. Any thoughts? |

Well, I personally don't like giving that many points to a team. However, after looking at todays ratings, I don't feel comfortable with any of the games so, I am laying pat. If I was going to play to night, it would probably be on Golden State to beat MIN recieving 3 points, now 2.5. |

Live example of the use of the spreadsheets. I have modified the way that I use the NBA Ratings spreadsheet. The system here is to be un-systematic. If you feel confident with the numbers and you feel you have an edge then bet it. For those that have the spreadsheet. If you updated the information today, take note on the following games. CLE @ NJ 10.5 ratings -14.4 (a -number on the ratings indicate favor to the away team) TOR @ BOS -3 ratings 10.11 (i am KG, rodno not playing) DEN @ UTA -7.5 ratings 2.44 (I would take the 7.5) POR @ GS -3.5 ratings 10.62 In my opinion these games offer some type of edge. Did I play any of these? No. I am still learning how to use these ratings and at the same time trying to help out those that have recieved it.

Well, If I was to handicap this game and notice that DET is on a 8 game losing streak ATS versus a team that is 3-2 last 5 ATS. I wouldn't touch this game irreguardless what ratings say. |
