The Jags offense last weekend looked abysmal, but there’s a reason for it. Blake has never played football this time of year as he’s never made the playoffs. He’s only been accustomed to playing in the sunny Florida weather. He was absolutely terrible in Jacksonville on Sunday, as only 1 WR on the team had a catch. However, Blake was playing his first game ever in high winds, as Jacksonville posted 20mph winds during that game. Blake has had 0 experience playing in such games, so it’s easy to see why he was missing wide open receivers all game long. The Jags defense however, was lights out. They recorded two sacks against a very mobile QB, and is surely to get more against Big Ben the statue. Jags defense will continue to dominate, while the offense will play much better this weekend, in Pittsburgh which is expecting just 6 mph winds. Let’s not forget that the Jags scored 30 points in 4 of the final 5 games of the regular season. As for the Steelers, they are a team that finished the season red hot, winning 10 of their final 11 games. However, many starters haven't played a single snap for 3 weeks. Tomlin decided to rest his starters in week 17, despite having a bye week coming up. When you are red hot to finish a season, the last thing you want is 3 weeks off. Not to mention Antonio Brown has been out for even further as well. Has Tomlin been able to keep the offense in rhythm during the time off? I highly doubt it. Tomlin made a mistake resting starters in week 17, and now a Steelers offense out of rhythm will be going up against the best defense in the AFC.On further note, Mike Tomlin wasn’t the only one on the Steelers making a mistake prior to this game. Big Ben when asked who he’d rather face in the opening round of the playoffs openly said “the Jaguars”. Never give an opponent bulletin board material prior to a game. The Jaguars in response to Ben’s comments: “be careful what you wish for”. The Jags will bring it here, and Pittsburgh is absolutely on upset alert.Jaguars +7.5 ($5,000) Vikings -3.5 ($4,000)Saints Under 20.5 ($1,000)
LC....based on your recent results, it is impossible for me to question any of your picks. I agree with the pick of Jacksonville +7.5 as there is absolutely no way the Steelers will score more than 20 points. The Jags defense is really that good. I also think that Bortles will play well enough to keep it close and perhaps even win the game. I keep telling myself, don't overthink this. The Jags beat a full strength Steelers team in Pittsburgh 30-9 so how in the hell are the going to lose the next game by 8+? My question for you LC is this: do you see the Jags money line as being a solid option as well? The only thing that scares me about that pick is that the league desperately wants the Pats-Steelers rematch and will probably make some borderline calls to make it happen. Interested in hearing your take on the Jags money line. Thanks. |

Seriously might have just watched the worst roughing the passer penalty I have ever seen to continue a Steelers drive that resulted in a TD. Seen this stuff too many times...Steelers going to cover every spread that ever came out for this game. Book it.

Not a gambler folks but I am in an NFL office pool that uses a pointspread for every game the entire season and I am in 1st place going in to the last week of games. I really want the bragging rights on this one...lol! So the format for the pool is you have 5 games of your choice each week that you place a higher value on than the remaining games. If you were in my shoes who do you feel really good about this week? I can tell you that the spreads are released early in the week and the spread for the Steelers-Browns game is locked in at Browns +13.5. That obviously is some serious line value but my gosh the Browns could still lose by two touchdowns to the Steelers backups! I currently have that game as my top pick of the week given the line value. Can anyone out there help a brother out with your thoughts on that 13.5 spread and any other games you really like. Not a big deal if I win or lose but thought I would consult the experts.
