Oklahoma would have run for 200yards + Still 163 or whatever it was is pretty solid against Bama... So lesson of the day: Take this with you so you will understand how to correctly watch a game from this point on... When a team is down 20+ points... they tend to abandon the run game. Well said Boom. I think OU averaged over 5 yards/carry. Digging that deep hole for themselves early in the game was just too much to overcome. Going into the game, two things had to happen for OU to have a shot to win......1) win the turnover battle and 2) win the battle of "breaks" (the over-ruled fumble on Bama's 1st possession and the"let it stand" possession call on their 2nd touchdown). They won neither. The championship should be a good one. I'm sure Clemson will attack the freshman DB that was covering Cee Dee Lamb. Give me Clemson and the points.

Isn't it about time for one of these coaches to suspend a handful of players? The off-the-field stuff is hard to quantify...what player-out or coaching change do you think will have the biggest impact on a game? Grier for WVU is an obvious one, but the Wisconsin QB being out has had little impact on anything. Comments?

BA.....thanks for the info you provide.....always the most informative posts in this thread. As far as strength of schedule......what source have you found to be most accurate? It seems like there is a lot of variance among sources like Sagarin, Massey etc.

Best of luck Boom. What do you think about Kyler Murray?

If you think it has a 75% chance of winning, and the rest are under 75%, then why do it differently. The hardest thing is waiting and not chasing or overconfidence
jmo Never said anything about betting one game or ten games. Why limit yourself to the Alabama/Clemson game? If you don't at least look at all the match ups, you'll never know if you like another game better. Alabama might win and they might not.....a solid case can be made for Clemson as well. I think there are softer spots.

I'd think that most people who bet all season look at every bowl game to see if something "sticks out" to them. Different strokes....

At least we need you for the regular cash transfer and for that, we all thank you. Everybody in this forum picks every bowl game. Few bet all their picks.

Anderson passed a polygraph test yesterday. He has not been suspended from the university nor the football team.

I don't think he is that good of a QB but he does 2 things very very well. He doesn't turn the ball over and he runs like a running back. If they contain him then they win. There is almost no threat of a downfield passing game with him at QB. They would be so much more effective with the young kid from Hawaii at QB in my opinion but it is hard to bench Hurts. I think Clemson has the best chance to win it all but I have to admit that I want to see Oklahoma do it this year. Their defense is just so iffy but they seem to hold up ok against teams that don't throw it 50 times a game. Mayfield is a jerk, but he is a gamer and fun to watch. He's a better version than Manziel. If they pull it off, he'll go down as one of the alltimers.

I'm anxious to see how Mayfield matches up vs. any of the three remaining defenses. Word is that OU thinks their offensive line is the absolute best in the country and that they can score 40 on anybody. Problem is, they can give up 50 against guys who can throw. That being said, the lines say that both games should be competitive.

I wonder if it would have mattered if Ohio State kicked the $hit out of Wisconsin, or if they were eliminated before the game was even played.

Their only loss was to the #2 ranked team in the nation, on the road, in the biggest rivalry in College Football. They also defeated two other top 25 teams, so yes they deserved to go in over Ohio State who lost to IOWA and Oklahoma, bad. Right now, Alabama has the best defense in the nation, one of the best defensive players in the nation in Minka Fitzpatrick, a QB who just wins, and has been to the National Championship, and has big game come from behind experience. Not to mention 3 of the best running backs in the nation as well. Now, will Daboll utilize those RBs this time like he did not do against Auburn? We will see... Will Pruitt all out blitz on 3rd and long? We will see, but I doubt it seeing as how for the first time this season we will have all our LBs healthy. I predict a close game with Clemson, but Alabama pulling away convincingly in the 4th. Alabama has beaten nobody, and this is probably Saban's worst team in years. They've lost games before, but the beatdown Auburn put on them a couple of weeks ago is telling. They were physically whipped on both sides of the ball, and that just never happens. Clemson has the better defense and wins a tight but much lower scoring game than last year.

Clemson and Bama are going to kick the $hit out of each other....OU gets a break by getting Georgia in the Rose Bowl (instead of Sugar). Mayfield will do his Deshawn Watson imitation and hoist the trophy.

OU will make this freshman beat them.....I don't think he can.

Committee is big on conference champs. If Ohio State blows Wisky out, Ohio State will get in. If they win a tight game, it's a coin toss. Bama didn't even win a division of their conference...if that team wore purple instead of Crimson, they'd have no chance to get in. Weak resume.

Ohio State might get in if they hammer Wisconsin. Bama didn't even win a division of their conference, and their resume is weak. The committee is supposed to give weight to conference champions. Alabama isn't nearly the team they've been the past several years.
