replied to Vegas Help in Las Vegas Mandalay will be insane this weekend. The UFC Is going on there Saturday night. Ive been to vegas for a ufc at the MGM. The day/night of the fight its insane in the casino area. Tons of fighters walkin around, a few celebs, and just overall a ton of people (18k going to the fight all milling through the casino) after the fight, its a stampede to the sportsbook to cash winnings tickets lol. The Mandalay sports book is about as good as it gets if you ask me. You could spend the whole weekend in Mandalay and have the time of your life. First off, its huge, Its awesome to see a casino dedicate a large area to sports/racing (even though the % of income is low compared to tables and machines) Benefits of Hilton -huge room, ton of windows..plenty of seats for sports/race players. tons of tvs, and options. -amount of betting options is crazy. You could probably bet on which cocktail waitress will take the next shit lol -they also have a really nice deli in the back of the book for some quick eats (the buffet is basically located in the book as well) Drawbacks of the SUPERBOOK -waitresses arent really the quickest with drinks -the buffet is basically in the sports book (the entrance to the buffet is directly under the sports tvs. If the buffet is busy, this can get hectic. I will also be there during the same dates as you, staying at the Hilton, Ill be cheering your Boilermakers on, as well as the Gophers!. As far as where to stay? It sounds like you wont be staying in your room often. Id look into the excalibur (dirt cheap, great location, its on the south end of the strip, a 2 min free tram ride to MGM, and walking idstance to monte carlo, mgm, and nyny to name a few) as far as staying at the hilton. Its "off strip" but its a cheap, 5 minute tram ride to the main hotels. (If you are staying at the hilton though, im sure your buddies will join you. The sportsbook there is awesome) Your best option depending on your budget is cabs. you are a 10-12 max dollar cab ride away from any 2 casinos on the strip. Cabs are fast, and by far your best option as long as you are not strapped for cash. When I went to vegas my 2nd time, I hit up as many sports book as I could in a 10 day period. As far as sportsbooks, and which are the best. my top 3 are in this order 1. Mandalay 2. Hilton 3.
