Of Steele's six teams listed above. The team I would most worry about is Marshall. They sucked stopping the run and running the ball last year. The rushing attack was 122nd out of 128 teams last year and the defense ranked 107th overall. Seven new players will be on defense that couldn't stop a cold during 2016. Not sure this unit can improve enough to help all that much on last year's 3-9 mark. (2-6 CUSA) |

RODEO - Lexingtonians are always looking for another reason to slide on their cowboy boots when it's not tailgate season and there isn't a big country concert at Rupp Arena. The third annual Lexington Rodeo this weekend is an opportunity to do just that. The event takes place at the Kentucky Horse Park. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Cowboy Up Freshman have started a total of 101 games for the SMU Mustangs football team the past two seasons. |

Phil Steele offers a good list of teams he values as "surprise teams" for 2017. Take a look. 1. Notre Dame. 15 starters back, since 2011, they're 4-10 as a road favorite. 2. TCU. 17 starters back, No. 4 experienced team in the nation. 3. Oregon. 17 starters back, 4-8 last year after a 98-22 run. 4. Texas. Were 3-6 in Big 12 last year, but outgained teams by 19.3 yards per game . 5. Marshall. Were 3-9 last year after a three year run of 33-8. 6. UCLA. Just 2-8-1 against the spread in last 11 non-conference games. Looks like Mr. Steele did his homework with these six teams. I agree with everyone of them. Welcome your thoughts............. |

TD, for you and guys like Al, I apologize for the bullxxxx going on at this fine network with thumb suckers who seem not to care. No doubt to my gang each of you are TRUE college football lovers. It's ashamed that one privileged, selfish poster even considers what could be/once was the best CFB forum on the net be at risk because he's SPECIAL. Hell, I'm SPECIAL, you are SPECIAL, but the difference is we love college football and not our selfish interest. Welcome the thumb suckers. |

England won the Under-20 World Cup by beating Venezuela 1-0 in the final for its first global SOCCER title since 1966. It ends decades of English underachievement on the international stage since winning the senior World Cup 51 years ago on home soil. |

Following the Twins are Cincinnati, San Diego, Tampa Bay and Atlanta. NASCAR - Ryan Blaney gets his first career win at the Pocono 400 Sunday. The 23 year old wheeled his way to Wood Brothers Racing's first win since the Daytona 500 in 2011. This kid is the 'real deal'. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - PEDAL TO THE MEDAL - There's no doubt about it. Most college football fans love to put their arms around a high scoring, exciting team. While defense is key when it comes to winning games, there is no refuting the fact that each and every team's mission is simple...outscore the opponent and win the game. With that thought in mind, it came as no surprise to learn that college football home dogs that have scored 40 or more points in each of their last two games are as solid an investment as you can find, going 74-41-3 against the spread in all games since 1980. Pedal to the medal with a 64.3 percent winning situation!
