My favourite quote from that article is this:
Parramatta sensation Hayne is seen as a crucial bargaining chip because he and Cooper have struck up a friendship via Twitter.

Wallabies star Quade Cooper conducting talks with Parramatta Eels
He'd be a great RL player imo. I'd go on to say his talents are severly inhibited / wasted in RU but thats not the case atm while he's playing at the Reds under Ewan McKenzie.

You've gotta watch the South Park episode "over logging" - an hilarious take on how cyber-orientated we are these days.

What makes me laugh is how its only become an issue for all and sundry down south now that the deal is actually done. For the last three weeks while its been talked about and speculated upon, nobody questioned the Broncos' capacity to do this deal.
What makes me laugh is that all year the Broncos have been acknowledged as being a club in a rebuilding phase with plenty of cap money to throw around over the next year or two due to the departure of some marquee names over the last couple of years. But now that this mostly young squad has started to click earlier than anticipated, the Broncos are suddenly regarded as being "star studded" and brimful of origin and test stars.
If Israel Folau wasn't leaving for AFL and the Broncos were simply retaining him and bringing in Ben Hannant, nobody would be batting an eye lid, despite the fact GI is basically a straight swap for Folau in terms of salary cap money. In fact, he's signed with the Broncos for LESS money than folau was on, with the rest of it topped up by huge third party deals.
This club has bled and bled and bled in terms of letting players go to remain salary cap compliant over the last five years. They've let 24 players go since 2007 including:
Petero Civoniceva, Ben Hannant, Michael Ennis, Shaun Berrigan, David Stagg, Greg Eastwood, Brent Tate, Darius Boyd, Dane Carlaw and Karmichael Hunt, Joel Clinton, Lagi Setu, PJ Marsh, Ashton Simms, Steve Michaels, Antonio Winterstein and Joel Moon.
But all of that means absolutely nothing in NSW, where the prevailing attitude is "how dare the Broncos sign ANYONE of note". The Broncos don't expect anyone south of the border to actually acknowledge the FACTS, but quite frankly the club and its fans couldn't really care less, because anti-Bronco jealousy has been around for decades. So keep living in hope that the cards will all come crashing down for the Broncos in terms of being busted for a massive salary cap rort, because that day will never come.
Oh, and anyone who thinks the Broncos or any club at the moment would be stupid enough to attempt some salary cap rorting recruitment coup in light of the hell thats just befallen the Melbourne Storm, is even more stupid than that very idea.
