its shocking how many of those they get wrong. great play though to get it out before the ref could see it completely cross the line.
They've been doing it this way forever now and I know its important to get it right and they dont wanna slow the game down or add too much technology. But how hard is it to put an overhead angle camera and pay some guys too watch it like they do for hockey. Then if there is any doubt they can simply phone over and the guy who has the best angle which is always gonna be over head in these cases as the ball has to completely go over the line - can give his input.
Here is the most amazing thing to me.....
NOBODY REALLY UNDERSTANDS THAT IT IS NOT AN INSTANT REPLAY.
The ref wears a buzzer - and he gets buzzed within 1 second of a goal line play if it was in. Thats it.
So Alexi Lalas and Michael Ballack arguing about when the game should be stopped so they could review it is irrelevant. There is no review.

Right - like just have the main ref wear a headset on a questionable he buzzes guy whos watching - guys whos watching gives an opinion. I don't really like the idea of a chip in the all cause it could easily be hacked but i guess its not that hard to bribe a dude in a chair either. lol
Also alexi lalas is the most irrelevant man in soccer history - espn couldnt find anyone else who loves to hear themselves talk so he got the job.
I think steve levy knows more.

if the ref positioned more to the right, might have seen it better. This shouldn't happen nowadays, let's see fifa react.

Here is how FIFA is going to react - it is unfortunate that it looks like the refs got the call on the field wrong, from the screens we have seen there is hardly indisputable evidence that the ball completely crossed the line. We fully back the referees decision who made the call.

england is scary, italy doesn't have good history facing pacey winger, they should be able to contain rooney or carroll or whoever it is playing the striker role for england tho.

Hoping your pounce play will be on France. Love the odds and def could see the upset happening, Spain didn't quite impress me so far and I can see France frustrating Spain with a solid organisation. Also leaning heavily under.
Italy I also like, bit of a homer bet maybe, but im still very unimpressed with the sheer quality on the English side, although they seem to be proving me wrong. Just think the Italy midfield should dominate, only worried about Walcott and Welbeck being to fast on the breaks.
