Despite a lack luster performance, The US team is still a better team compare to the rest. The number one weakness for this team is Jill Ellis' ability to manage the personnel. In the game against Spain, She waited so late to put on fresh legs. And should have bring in Lloyd at the start of 2H in place of Morgan. I hope that she will let Lloyd starts the next game and make better choices with substitution. If Lloyd starts, It is almost a guarantee that the US will win the match.
I put these in early because of good value. The US has so many good players at every position. If Jill Ellis can manage the game, the USA team will win the CUP.
There are several reasons that USA is a good pick today. USA executed a perfect defensive game against France and they do not have to against England. There are weakness in England defense that I think even Alex Morgan can exploit. The only reason I am not going BIG on this because Alex Morgan is starting instead of Lloyd.
England won the last two knock-out games with the score 3-0 but I am not impressed with their style of playing. If the game was ref correctly in the Nigeria game, the game could have go into extra time. Norway is one step below England from physical stand point. Nevertheless, Norway has lots of scoring chances but cannot put the ball in the back of the net.
England coach is an a s s hole. He tried to create distraction with a lame hotel-gate. Only weaker team with weaker mentality does that sh!t.
If thing goes as expected, USA will win this game handily in regulation. If the game is tie at the half and Lloyd get to sub for Morgan, USA will still win the game.
