Ganda , I know the code , the same motherfucker told me to make many changes back in the house , small example wired smoke detectors in my office , I had to partly open up the walls 

guess what.  I didn’t need them because it is no fucking bedroom

That sucks Barb, When we built ours the city guy came in noticed that the gate opens into ravine instead of into our property "inswinging" & than he said no worries put a lock/bracket on it I'll take a pic & done, no problems. Some people are just jealous a holes

You know these inspectors in California are like this. Most of them love the power that they have and know they can cause havoc on you. I always find that all the inspectors are either night and day, they're either very helpful and walk you through anything that needs to be resolved or their pricks.
