Ronaldo and Messi

I come on here to read some fabulous posters and get opinions on games.  I rarely post.  Had to today after I read Franz statement regarding these two.  Two fabulous players.  We are privileged to witness them in their prime.  Who is better?  Is it not obvious it's personal preference and opinion.  According to our corrupt FIFA Ronaldo has won the last two so if you're going based on Ballon D'Or, sorry Franz latest poll is Ronaldo.  Two in a row albeit.  Now let's talk some facts and some of my observations:

1.  Messi is playing with two of the best forwards in the world.  Is there anyone out there that would take Benzema and Bale over Neymar and Suarez??   You would have to be nuts!!!  Can  you afford to double up Messi?  Nope.  Can you afford to double up Ronaldo?  Yep.  Bale has been a massive disappointment and talent wise not close to Neymar or Suarez.  Nor is Benz.

2.  Look at the injuiries Real have suffered this year.  Their second best player Modric has been out almost two months.  Benz a month, Ramos, Bale,...  And the stats say Ronaldo up by 2 goals in La Liga and not too far off in assists.  CL pretty close as well.

3.  Makes players around him better?  They both do!  Ronaldo has advantages being taller and scores more headers, pks?  Uh who cares.  If you compare two players, you compare them period.  I guess I could tell you Messi being short has advantages dribbling.  Ronaldo only won POY when Messi was hurt?  Haha.  Ok.  And CR7 never plays hurt.  Has Xavi and Iniesta not been finalists for POY on multiple occasions?  Who has the better talent around him?  I'd say that is strongly in the favor of Lionel Messi!  And you bring up Argentina v Portugal?  Go ahead.  Tell me anyone on the Portugal squad a top tier team would take and start and then lets' talk Argentina.  Tevez, DiMaria, Aguero, Pastore,.... what a ridiculous comparison.

And yes Ronaldo has won the POY with ManU in the best league in the world, the one with more competitive teams than any other.  Leo is a Barca product, albeit a remarkable one.

Both incredible players.  Comes down to opinion.  And in mine, comparing the players they play with, the statistics, the physical attributes and skills it's Ronaldo.  Messi is the darling of FIFA, Ronaldo is not and that is very much his doing.  When Messi has a great game the media are on their knees for him.  I mean they played an injured PSG, and now Bayern.  And Pep plays wide open vs that trio upfront?  haha, laughable.  Ronaldo would have a field day vs Bayern the way they played.  I believe it's hate for Ronaldo that drives people to share such strong opinions of Messi.  Although he can do stupid things on the field, Ronaldo does so much for charities and people.  Get past the hate.  Where the hell would Real be without CR7?  Mercy.

I can appreciate a debate that has a good argument to it.......however.....

#1.    This combo is together for THE FIRST TIME. Real Madrid buy whoever is the hottest available player on the market.......Gareth Bale......CRAZY $$$.........Jamie Rodriguez........CRAZY $$$......Ozil.....Khedeira.....Kroos.......Modric.........And on and on and on. The team is in excess of $500 million in debt. The Banks own that debt, and while the country is on the verge of a financial bankruptcy, they continue to Buy Buy Buy. Ronaldo gets all the great players to assist him, they don't really attempt to produce their own talent. Barca does. Remember, that's how they brought a 14 year old Messi to Spain.  To pay for an operation on his deformed leg.

#2.   Why are we only talking about this year again. I said he was the greatest player on this planet. That infers more then one game or season.

#3   Ronaldo makes players around him better ? Where have you been. Ronaldo's biggest criticism from players is his " give me the ball and get out of my way " attitude. His game is to score goals, he is no where near Messi in lifetime assists.

And no, Messi isn't FIFA's " little darling ". You are the only one saying that. Messi is a class act that has played the game in the same manner that his humble ego has taken in all the accolades......With pure class.

You can have an opinion and state that Ronaldo is better, I will always respect someone for that. But your points aren't accurate, and only talk about 1 season out of so so many.  

Bomber, You seemed to have missed my whole point. The statement, and question being answered, is who is the best ....CAREER. it has nothing to do with ONLY THIS YEAR. The debt that I referred to, was accumulated by bringing in all the best talent available, year in and year out. Ronaldo has been at Real Madrid for years. Again........NOTHING TO DO WITH JUST THIS YEAR. CAREER

Again,   Show me where I dissed Ronaldo ? You definitely dissed Messi, and yet you speak of biases, and make false claims. Debate......don't insult. Bring some real FACTS to the table. Remember, you brought me here with your comments toward ME. I don't recall using your name in my thread, nor making false claims against you. Just saying.

There you have some facts.  Offer me some of your facts that support Messi as the "greatest on the planet".  4 years he has won with one Club.  3 years Ronaldo with 2 Clubs.

Btw since you mention class.  Sure Leo has always remained humble.  Fantastic.  And Ronaldo is as you describe a selfish guy on the pitch.  But besides being the best player in the world, he seems like a tremendous humanitarian

But you started your comments with......" .Franz statement regarding....". Its a direct challenge comments I made elsewhere. YOU CHOSE TO DO THAT. Again, I don't recall using your name in any thread I have ever submitted in my 7 years here.

I guess voters were not objective.  They gave the award to Ronaldo but YOU the OBJECTIVE one has it going to Messi as the best.

You are assuming I like Ronaldo.  Assuming I dislike Messi.  My 1st line was we are privileged to watch the 2.  Stop making assumptions and stick to the debate.  Does your article talk about who plays with whom.  Have some objectivity.  It is clear Messi has better players around him, always has.
