Wow.  I like to think I am a guy who can admit when I have been lucky....  So I am going to take some license here and say that was a ridiculously unlucky set of events.

That is like an NFL game that has 400 yards of total offense but goes over the total because of turnovers and blocked punts.

Jeesh. 

A 1-1 was such a great result for me.  Eh.  On to tomorrow.

There wasn't even a chance to have a scoring chance in the second half before that penalty. Had 1-1 written all over it. Terrible call by the ref

You could watch this sport a long time and not see this bad of a performance by a goalkeeper.  Just terrible.

And if they ever show the full third goal again - there was a missed foul on Brazil before the goal.

What a friggin game this was.

This is remarkable. Now Brazil cover the -1.5 line too. This will fill accounts with loose favorite and over money. Dog and under value to come...

Well, that sucked. I went with Croatia +1.5 and lose in extra time on a horrible play by the goalie. And then there was the bad penalty car on Fred's Flop! Of course, Croatia got lucky with the Brazil own goal.

Obviously U2.5 was an unlucky loss. Fortunately I went ahead with sizeable bets on Brazil to win it all and Neymar to take the scoring crown. Dani Alves (yes, his mistake started Croatia fast break), Pletikosa and the referee made me, and millions of Brazilians, a pretty happy man for the evening.

I think the main takeaway here is that , as Van has pointed out in his initial analysis, this Brazil team isn't as offensively potent as before.  Considering how they scored their goals today as many of you have already pointed out,  this game should have played under.

I always say in all sports........sometimes you can be correct with your handicapping and expected outcome and still don't cash the ticket. Sometimes you can be wrong about what you think might happen and you sneak one in and cash a ticket. This game was a perfect example.

I didn't have a vested interest in this match....but the final says over but the play, style of play, and warranted an under. If there would have been 25 shots and a good pace than it would make sense.

Sometimes they fall or don't fall as expected.
I will be cheering you cash those tickets

Van first of all gl and great job in the NFL tourny. I still want to flip you to cards. I think you would do well but a few years ago on the hot seat (maybe the best thread ever) you said that you have no interest.

I have a question on the lines and hope I do not sound like a noob. I am at the mercy of a well known sportsbook. Tomorrow they have Spain at  -.5 -125 ok thats easy but why do they have the ML -125. To me isn't that the same bet? Or is the ML -125 so it gives you the option of betting the draw.

Rough game today and the only good thing that came out of it was Brazil does not look like the world beaters of the past. They play like this and it will be an early exit.

Nice to see not much flopping going on but a few. I would like to see one thing. Any penalty in the box should have the option of review. Hard to explain what the ref saw but if that had been against Brazil and had an outcome on the game they would have to sneak that ref out of the country. Then again that ref could and should get banned for the rest of the tourny.

In many countries, thanking Him is automatic. Pretty sure the mafiosi from Sicily say a quick prayer before going to murder a mayor or rob a bank. Catholic faith is all about 'sinning and repenting'.

Van,  great find and good call on that foul.  It is obvious that the hero of opening game was the ref.  There is also something new that i found today.  Croatian federation is in disbelief that the ref DID NOT SPEAK ENGLISH.  He was directing/giving commands to the players in Japanese.  This is a complete joke.  
Croatian coach said it the best "if this continues all teams might as well go home now and the trophy can be given to Brazil without playing"

btw how come you didn't go to Brazil.  Figured you will be there since you skipped Euro as well.
