Brazil/Croatia---> UNDER 2.5 @ -115 (1.15 to win 1.00)

I'm obviously disappointed with the result of the wager, but much more importantly I'm disappointed with the game. Yes, own goal is a bummer for an under but part of the game. However, that penalty kick was a TERRIBLE call, there really isn't much room to argue that. Very sad to see a game given away like that. Then on the other end, that is just not a foul on Olic and the game should be equalized at 2 a piece. I was not rooting for Croatia before the game but I think they gave a great effort today and deserved a point, against a Brazil team that played way below their ability, and got at least 2 MAJOR gifts from the ref. I think they made a poor decision to keep attacking like that up a goal, to give up the equalizer on the counter attack with so many man forward was just not a wise choice. Ultimately, I think that this Croatia side is a pretty strong team, and I like there chances to get out of this group still.

Zamigo,    I agree that Croatia are a pretty solid team, and certainly improved when Mandzukic returns, but we definitely watched 2 different games. it's okay to be wrong once in a while. You are certainly right more often then you are wrong, and that's a winning formula.

I was absolutely wrong, my wager was a loser and I wasn't even talking about the wager really...what did you see in today's match? I mean I am not claiming that Brazil aren't the better team, of course they are. I thought they played below their potential and Croatia played above theirs. I also thought the ref made a terrible call on the penalty and it was unlucky for Croatia.

 Zamigo,    True that the penalty call was dodgy. Brazil did score all 4 goals though, and we're clearly the much better team. Let's just assume they are team A and team B, and not put any labels on either team.......here are the stats...

If we don't hold Brazil to a higher standard,  clearly Team A were the better team.

I never suggested that Croatia were the better team. I'm not a Croatia fan and I did not bet on Croatia. If I won my wager I would still be disappointed with that penalty call because it just was not even close to correct (and there was a 4th goal, so my rant was totally separate from my wager). It's bothersome when these games are decided like that, I think you would agree. It's easy to pull stats up and say they paint a complete picture of the game but I don't believe the game was as one-sided as those numbers convey. And again, my wager was on the total, and I missed it, never even meant to suggest that it should have could have or would have won IF...

Ist off.......Brazil scored all 4 goals, so I'm not seeing how it should have been equal at anything, at any point. secondly, the game within the game.......Not one yellow card given to Croatia after 18 fouls, of which 2 yellows to the same defender could easily have been given for a red......again, you mentioned how it isn't always about stats. Agreed, the ref should have taken action against the clear difference in deliberate fouling by Croatia.

This game was not a good start to the World Cup ... Games like this a penalty is awfully hard to earn, the olic foul is clear no foul but those types of calls on the goalie are likely to happen. Very disappointing game to watch and if I was a new fan to the game to watch that I would feel robbed but maybe you have to actually know the game to see that it was certainly skewed

I'm confused how my opinion that there were 2 major gifts to brazil from the ref and the score should have been 2-2 suggest either of the 2 things that you suggested...

1) that Croatia were the better team 
2) that I was making an excuse for my lost wager

I'm shocked that you think the ref was even in this match I really am, even if you believe Croatia should have gotten more yellow cards. I personally didn't see any penalty kicks in the Sevilla game, granted I respect your opinion that there should have been, but for me I would rather the refs err to the side of no call than giving away goals like this. You can pull up something from over a month ago but it just isn't relevant here. The way I saw it, Croatia may have earned a draw in today's match, in no way are they better, they didn't even outplay Brazil, just could have earned a draw without the interference of the ref.

Despite the outcome of any wager, I think the ability to be objective about how the game went is a key to future success. I try to be as objective as I can about every game, sometimes I catch a break, and sometimes I get unlucky, but as long as I can be objective about how it went I can learn from it and improve on a future wager.

Don't you think UNDER 2 for spain/Neitherland is a bit low? Do you expect the game will be 1-0? Because I was thinking to bet both team to score.

I think 1-0 or 0-0 are the most likely outcomes, 2-0 is possible, 1-1 is possible, 3-0 or 3-1, or 2-1 are far less likely for me...I think the Dutch team will be happy with a draw and will want to keep it low scoring and tight. I think this Spanish team is happy to posess the ball all day long, so that means if they are up 1 they will pass and pass and pass the clock down. Even at 0's they will pass and play patiently until they find a goal, not force anything. 

To be fair though I expected this to be the approach of Croatia and they came out in a very offensive formation and didn't even fall back into a more defensive formation after taking the lead. However, I think that the Spanish attack is just too strong for the Dutch defense and in order for them to get a result here they will have to defend first, and attack 2nd. Just my 2 cents....GL either way

Total swing and a miss in the Spain/Netherlands...both impressed with how Netherlands attacked and defended, and suprised how poor Spain defended...caught a break there in the Chile game but I was confident they would win so I took the bet willing to push and happy to win. Even still Australia certainly could have equalized some question marks about Chile's back four but it is really hard to tell how they will come out against the European teams. Tomorrow should be a great day of games, and I'm very excited about my...

A bit trigger shy after my first 2 unders but I'd be shocked if more than 2 goals are scored in this one...not loving the juice here either, but think its a winning wager

Bosnia/Argentina---> Both Teams To Score

Waiting for a line but I think the Bosnia attack is going to be a handful for a lot of teams. I expect Dzeko to be a terror for Argentina, as I have seen him do before playing for country. I think Argentina has a bit shaky of a defense and I expect them to concede some good scoring opportunites. I'd like the OVER here except if Bosnia are to score first they may tactically shift towards a very defensive stance. Same if they are somehow tied at 1 in the 2nd half, they may try to weather the storm and get a point. Argentina will want 3, but looking at that group, I can't conceive of a way that they don't get through the group, and I can't imagine they can either. They will press for a go ahead goal but not with a do or die mentality.

I had the same thought when I saw it...can't see either team keeping a clean sheet...not fully understanding the line, but to be honest a lot of the prices available are confusing me quite a bit. I guess when you have the entire world with a whole wide array of biases and expectations, lines get worked in a weird way. Hopefully I can read these lines a bit better by the knockout stage
