even though the chargers usually stumble out of the gate, i see them destroying minny week 1. mcnabb is finished and the vikes are fooling themselves into thinking he makes them competitive. he will be throwing to a bunch of #2 receivers also. their #1 stength, the D line, has been torn apart. AD is running behind an old O line that has regressed in their run blocking. and the chargers have hired a good special teams coordinator in bissachia as well as dedicate the draft to getting players that can contribute immediately on improving special teams. the -9 really does not scare me.
So you think AP is going to stink it up this year then? I was thinking that he could still have a big year with McNabb?!? But your argument is very convincing.

his O line will be worse this year so i am assuming his production falls. i still see him getting 4.2-4.4 ypc and 1100-1200 yards, but not the force that he was on '07 and '08 when that O line was awesome. their left tackle pickup, charlie johnson, sucks and has been looking bad at camp. i cant believe bryant mckinnie packed it in and blew up to 400 lbs. but something tells me he knew the vikes would suck this year and he wants to play elsewhere

Any high stakes Survivor Pools to get into this year online? I knew a guy at my work. I guess on another site someone said there use to be a couple huge ones, but one guy in NJ got arrested for taking a big cut, I guess (was like an 800k pool) you can read the article by googling, I guess.. Some other guy use to have a site joeyfootball.com they said which was 100k+ but he shut his down when he heard news of the other big one going down. I love these contests, but have never been in a real big one, other than just friends, family, or people in my block playing in a small one of 20 or so people for chump change..Im very good at them and have won the last two years..I love Denver for WK 1 Pick or Houston. Cant go wrong with either of them

Are you picking ats or SU? I'm doing one here in vegas ATS. 75K to winner. I get 5 entries for a hundo. Last year one winner and it ended week 9.
Any tips, strategies you have would be appreciated!
GL to you!
my pool is straight up... so obviously much easier than ATS. but amazingly the pool seems to never make it more than 10 weeks.
here are a few basic rules I follow...I tailored them to reflect an ATS pool
1. Avoid road favorites
2. Never bet on division games
3. Never bet a double digit favorite
4. When in doubt go with a good QB
5. Do not bet on your favorite team (bet with your head not your heart)
6. Do not leave a good team on the board (if a team is a cover machine, don't save them for later)
7. Stay away from the play that seems to easy. Chances are many people are on this line and you do not want to get eliminated with the rest of the sheep.
Good luck man, i have never done a survivor pool against the spread, but it sounds challenging!

I can only do one signup per person. You need a players card thru stations casino's. If I could do more I would. I'll see if I can do another. Get back to you.

Good tips! My 5 entries are all the own entity, so I could do the Pats on all 5 for the same week, I'd never do that, just for example. Obviously with 5 entries I do have to look hard at divisional games and include some of them, I am picking 1/3 of games a week, plus I don't want to have to pick a scrub game like 49ers/seabags. Some early leans are texans if manning is out and Rams.

no problem....look for my weekly topic...survivor pool week 2 etc.... last time i posted in the NFL forum the idiots at covers moved it to this forum so what do you think?
keep posting new topics in this forum? or try to keep it in the nfl forum? i say it makes more since in the nfl forum because it is essentially your best ML bet of the week.
maybe I will call it: Best ML bet week 2 (survivor pool)

I do one for $50 an entry and there are about 400 people signed up with a week to go. Winner takes all, but last year the final 2 decided to chop the pot and each walk away with a big chunk of change. Besides site fees there aren't any other costs besides "tipping" the guys for running a great pool. You can email me at benjaminkramer3@gmail.com and i can forward you the email to the pool with sign in information and where to send payment. It is a very legit pool and this is my 4th year in it.

Be very careful with that KC game. I think the Chiefs are very overrated and the Bills are underrated. I love the Bills getting 5.5 and I think they have a really good shot at winning the game.
I would go with Arizona

Packers -4.5 No way GB loses this game on opening night. Last 7 SB champs have won SU in week 1. Saints defense on the road is weak. I'd also advise playing the over in this one as thats how saints go on the road. Looking for a 7pt win here out of GB.

Titans +3.5 Catching the extra half point here and Garrard is gone, jags players are in shock and still will be on sunday.Human joystick is back and hasselbeck is capable.

Jets -4.5 Looking for a good defensive effort here from the jets to put pressure on romo and get turnovers out of him. Also boys secondary is weak and jets have the weapons to exploit it.

seriously, rookie QB traveling across country...what more could you ask for? and besides i do not see another week ARI looks good to play....i'm rolling the dice and playing all my accounts on that one game and getting a mediocre team (ARI) with a very good play (against CAR) off the board week 1.
