I AGREE! Arizona is the strongest play on the board.  I was wondering if that was a good idea or not to put everything on the cardinals.  But it is really the only play I feel safe with.  I am debating going with Houston as my other pick with manning out, what do you think?

Houston host Jacksonville week 8...and that might be the best play that week...(looking that far ahead is really wishful thinking)...but to answer your question in detail...Wade Phillips is going to really improve the Texans but their head coach is really out of place...and Indy's staff have planned for this situation all along and are supeiror as a whole...I want to see both of these teams play before i use them....I have seen Kolb play (he is better than Vick) and the Panthers have gone from really bad to worse, at least in the short term.

Arizona's rush defense scares me 

They have 2 decent backs plus Cam who can run.  I know its a long shot, but they play good D keep close and grind it out on the ground?  I am defenitly picking ZONA with one of my picks, but not sure about the other!

Torn between San Diego, Houston, & Arizona again!

SD is a scary pick..MIN has old vet QB strong RB and were the best team in the NFL 2 years ago. Add the fact SD never starts the season well you are just rolling the dice, Also, SD is much stronger later in the season and i will use them then...Houston is the pick now that INDY knows there is no hope. Yesterday they could play to hang on for P.M.;s return like PIT did last season with B.R.'s suspension...but today they know it will be struggle to win 5 games, and their heads have to be spinning...

i'm in a survivor pool as well and like your categorization - take az - and i'm probably writing this too late anyways since you have already submitted your picks but reason why - this being the first week of the season - i look at last years data - and i have data from the previous seasons as well - looking at ranks and sagarin information - on paper carolina is better in 4 categories compared with az - based on previous situations - if a team is better in only 2 categores and is favored - you take them, thus az. either way good luck.

Arizona gets me into week 2, K.C. and Cleveland eliminated about 20% of my survivor pool.

yeah, things changed for me as soon as manning was declared out for week 1, i changed my pick to houston which was an easy decision for me especially after seeing KC spread drop to -3.5 from -6.5 or whatever it was a couple weeks ago.. and houstons was -9 so easy choice to change to houston...   A lot of people got eliminated taking clev and KC though which is great for me in my pool..

I love it after all the analysis ChOdaZ does he comes up with KC who gets destroyed by Buffalo.  Just goes to show you.  Go with your gut.  Forget this guys stupid rules.

I chose Houston and Arizona...after all of my analysis and input from others I decided against Kansas City and never even pondered Cleveland.

ok, if you chose Arizona as i suggested you are in great shape....you got a mediocre team (Arizona) off the board and still hold a good team (Houston) that might play well on the road if needed. NYJ is the play this week NOT PITTSBURGH! if you want to know why just ask...

I am defiantly taking PITT with one of my picks and either the JETS or PACK with pick 2

I think that the packers are going to win easy but I try to stay away from road teams.

I think the Jets are a strong play but I can see this game being close and I do not want to lose to a punt return or something like that.  i will be thinking this over until the last minute i am sure.

if I was making only 1 pick I would just take PITT for sure.  survive and advance, worry about who you are taking next week, next week

Chodaz,I'm in a tougher boat ATS. I'm tryed to find reasons NOT to take Pitt. I unlike you have to lay 14.5!! and I still think its the strongest play.Real bad spot for seabags.

Seabags-2nd road game

traveling east to play early game

Have to play pitt in home opener after being embarrased last week.

Seabags- only 219yds of offense vs 49ers, shut out for over 2 qtrs.

O-line for seahawks is young and only gallery has experience,plus he's gimpy and some other key injuries on the line.Center is a rookie.

49ers had like 5 sacks,yikes!!

I only see this as a large win for Pitt. 21+

hmmmm...if i had to pick against the spread I would consider Dallas -3, wash -4, chargers +7.5, or titans +7

much harder against the spread!  I really do think Pitt mops the floor with the the seahags too, but as always when laying more than 2 TDs everything has to go right! a pick 6, punt return, or something else unfortunate might bust that cover

Pit is the easiest play this week but not the smartest! Jets now will play out better in the next few weeks. You need a strategical plan to win this thing and pushing all-in every time you have AA is not the way to win a tournament. Week 3 is the hardest week. You might want to play Pit against Ind (road)  or SD vs KC (home) or Phl vs NYG (home) depending on how teams fare this week....but week 5 is the week to really play Pit (another hard week). most people will play Jets week 6 vs Mia that week but they have 3 road games in weeks 2-4 (@Oak, @Bal, @NE). playing Jets there is a good example of not having a plan. but their are many options week 6 but the Jets will look like the best play to the ignorant.

That being said....I am still trying to talk myself into another play that is not Pitt.  Thinking Tennessee or Eagles??????  Eagles is crazy is Vick isn't 100% and it is still a division game.  Tenn looked good last week... but do I want to risk my season on Hasselback?

YES...2 years ago I was eliminated when Pitt lost @ KC!

Glad I didn't go with TENN or Eagles though...those are looking scary!

Giants +9 is the best play of the month, the rest of the world should be starting to realize something i have known since 2001...Vick sucks. Add the concussion and division game with a team that can run...

YES SIR!  Some people in my pool found that out the hard way yesterday.  

I can't really brag too much though, while both of my picks move on (PITT and San Diego) they both only won by a field goal.  Plus Pitt was down at half time, and if Painter doesn't overthrow Garcon late in the game....i might not be looking so hot.
