I have received a few PM's about running a labby on this.. so I thought I would just address them all right here.
Please keep in mind that these thoughts are only in regard to MLB and the Systems I am running..
Honestly, I am not a fan of the Labouchere Money Management System. No one has ever been able to convince me as to why it is so much better than a Modified Martingale. Many will think I am crazy for thinking this, but I've had no problem with it.
In my opinion, the Lab is supposed to be a "safer" wagering style, which minimizes your losses, but also minimizes your profits.
Frankly, I am not interested in minimizing my profits, and I simply do not believe in losses.
If I was doing an NHL System, then yes, I see value in running the Lab style. Any System where you expect to have 7-8 losses will leave the Chaser busted at the door. If you're only expecting 1 or 2 losses, and have a solid plan on how to recover those losses, then I prefer a Modified Martingale. This is my own personal preference tho, and like I said on the Master page of the Top 7 Home Team System spreadsheet, I actually recommend most people to run a Lab style for this. It is better suited for most people's taste, and wagering safety.
I honestly don't know how many Units the Labouchere would produce for this, but obviously it would still be a nice profit.
I have no interest in explaining how to run a Lab, as there is all ready an extreme amount of info in almost every thread on here about how the Labouchere works. You should know how to set up your own lines by now. I don't like telling people how to manage their own money. Hopefully, you can appreciate this..

However, here is what I am going to do here.. purely for 2 reasons:
1) The only Professional I have ever come across who I have come to respect, is Tod Wilkinson. Most of you probably are more familiar with the group he is part of, PSIC (Platinum Sports Investing Club). I don't know Tod personally, but I would love to meet him someday. He is a wealth of great knowledge and really knows his stuff. I followed his NHL System this past year for research, but I did not play it. All the links in other threads usually point to his version of the Labouchere.. once again, found here:
PSIC Labouchere Style
He swears by it, and makes it work.. he's done his years and years of homework, so it must work pretty damn good.
2) My curiousity has been peaked enough while writing this, that I am now interested in seeing a direct comparison. At the very worst, it is yet another tracking tool which can be used in future System Analysis. That is never a bad thing.
I am open-minded enough to try this, and see how it goes.
I will setup a very aggressive version of the Labouchere for comparison sake. I still recommend setting up your own lines, which you are comfortable with. Mine will be used strictly for a comparision. I will possibly add a new Tab onto the spreadsheets which can be used for tracking, maybe..
I'm tired of talking about this now.. I'm going out for a drink.
Cheers
