If Djoko wins the French giving him the "career slam" that Fed and Rafa have, it will go a long way in terms of helping my opinion of him as a "next level" type of player.

Right now, he's still a guy who got hot for just over a year and ran everyone off the court EXCEPT at the french.

He still sits with just 5 major wins as opposed Rafa and Fed's double digits.

Note that Djoko already has 4 losses this year.

yea, yea, yea, i know his grandpa died and he had to play on the smurf clay, but 4 losses is 4 losses, and it's only May.  last yr he lost 2 matches the whole damn year.

did you see the Aussie Open final 2012 when Rafa blew chances to take control of the match in the 5 set epic match?  an objective observer would see that he played just as well, if not slightly better, but djoko played consistently in the big pts and rafa messed up

i made no excuses, the better player that day won

i don't think so.

amazing, amazing talent, but when it's all said and done his career will be close to agassi's, mcenroe's, connors...........in the sense that it will be an amazing career for a tennis player, but not at the elite level as the best that ever played the game

top tier:  fed, sampras, roy emerson, rod laver, rafa nadal

2nd tier:  agassi, mcenroe, connors, lendl, and djokovic

that's mah story and i'm stikkin to it

why are you putting people in classes before their careers are over lol stupid, what if joker wins 9 grand slams over next 3 years, just saying what if you can't put ppl in certain levels before careers are over

you don't get it.  he will NOT even break 10 total slams in his career, which even if he finishes with 10 it is a stellar career, but not fed and rafa type stellar.

he is rising at the time that fed has slipped considerably, and rafa had some more injury issues.  all credit to nole for his game from jan 2011 through jan 2012.  it was an epic run.  he won 4 slams bringing his total to 5.

now he must deal with the rising murray, the soon-to-be-back del potro, a hungry and healthy rafa, a rising player in tomic, and who knows who else will step up?  maybe soderling will come back strong after the layoff?

too many players who have similar style games to nole will be rising up now, it's too many guys for nole to deal with, he's simply not as dominant as roger was or rafa is, he cannot put up unGodly stretches for multiple years like those guys could

sometimes you can just see things a mile away.

djoko will not drop to earth, he will thump to earth with a major slowdown in slam wins

people who cannot understand tennis enough to know that his serve is not big enough and he is not dominant enough an overall player to run the tennis world like fed and rafa have done, and rafa continues to do

you just can't put people in classes before there career is over its just dumb it was a what if, and 10 grand slams is what rafa has so what would be diff if he got them, rafa could only last a cpl of more years with wear he puts on his body, what happens if joker wins all 4 this year like judging someone so young into career is stupid nadal doesnt have a big serve either you dumass

in 2011 nole dominated rafa........the clay court season before the french was very impressive for nole...........rafa's broken foot at wimbledon killed him...........all credit to nole for beating him at the us open though........

in the 2012 aussie, rafa got his mental edge back by pushing it 5 sets and playing as well or slightly better than nole overall..........

took it to monte carlo 2012 and whacked nole

took it yesterday and cruised

IT'S ON sistas..........
