Im going to bet on Tsonga tomorrow. if he wins, I win money, if Rafa wins I will most likely watch another great tennis match.
I noticed the lack of bulk when he took his shirt off this week. Definitely not where he was in the clay court season and it explains all these shallow strikes he has hit this week that have really opened up offensive opportunities for his opponents.
I feel the same as far as the fact that if I lose this bet I will feel like I watched something historic in the process. I would almost like to see it happen if I had not bet this much. But I think in this case reality is going to be a bit too cruel to allow such a beautiful result to take place. I usually bet with my heart and that is where it is but in this case the contrast from what I want to see and what I think will actually happen is so stark that I have to go with my head. I want money like Nadal wants wins!
Very glad to see you agree on this. Shows objectivity IMHO and that is probably the most important factor in tennis capping. (not that I would know, haha)

Three more factors for Tsonga, strong ones:
1. Homefield advantage. Home field provides as much if not more of an advantage for tennis than any sport, save maybe the NBA. Check out how Melzer played at his home tournament a few weeks ago and tell me I am lying. He was insane. And Tsonga seems like the type to feed off the crowd energy, if you have seen him play before.
2. Tsonga is the defending champion and thus has a ton of points to defend.
3. He will not feel the usual pressure a fave would. Will probably sense the expectations but losing to Nadal is not something people would bat an eye over, especially those who have not seen them play this week, that is, most. And obviously anyone relishes a chance to beat the man on any surface; there is inherent motivation in playing against Nadal.
Tsonga should max out for this one. And even if pressing leads to a high number of errors I think even he will figure out soon that if he reigns it in some he can win this easily. If he wants it it is right there for him. He shouldn't even have to be brilliant to win, and with the pressure off some and all the other factors in play he might well be exactly that tomorrow. Just IMHO.
