I played the -3.5 games. I feel like if Kanepi is going to win, she'll do it routinely. They played on clay back in '05 and Kanepi won 6-2 6-2. If you look at Kanepi's matches on clay the last few years, she either wins in straights or loses if it goes 3. Makarova is capable, but Kanepi is the more established clay courter with better results on the dirt.

Hey bro....Im mainly basketball and baseball..I know basically zero about tennis..I usually just parlay big favorites( this shows how much of a degennerate I am..)  I did trail you though on Fognini the other day...( I took him the following day too just because he killed the first time out)  then I took Kuznetsova today...So, basically I'm 3-0 all thanks to you...thanks bro!  Greatly appreciated and best of luck in the future.

Futures are a bit muddied with injury concerns to Murray and Kvitova.

Murray rolled his ankle quite badly during the Berrer match, (Monfils almost did the same thing on the same court today against Ferrer) luckily the scan came back clean so there's no serious damage but it still could seriously hinder his movement with stiffness/swelling. On the plus side he played some of his best tennis after the incident, transitioning to ultra aggressive play and he'll need to continue that if the ankle is still tender. The weather is on his side for tomorrow as I don't think his match will even start with the current forecast and the extra rest and icing will definitely help.

I'm a little worried about Kvitova's chances right now too. She's been bothered by her left shoulder and had a scan yesterday that came up clean but she'll be on painkillers for the rest of the tournament. Her coaches are blaming the new, heavy babolat balls as are a number of players for generating more pressure on their joints.
I don't know if the discomfort in her shoulder is a major distraction or a minor one but it's a concern either way, so I can't recommend her tomorrow despite the earlier beatdown she gave Li in Madrid. Her mental strength is definitely near the top of the women's tour so here's hoping she can continue her great play and the pain doesn't worsen.

no plays for now, going to see how the courts handle the rain tomorrow and hope the futures stay alive.

Falla's definitely playing well right now but there's a few major concerns for him.

1. He's never been this far in a major before and has a penchant for failing to close out matches with his weak nerves, most recently demonstrated versus Kubot and the infamous Federer match. Chela's been here before and knows what to expect.

2. Falla's played a ton of sets since May 17th qualifying started, 20 sets of tennis is a lot of court time for anyone. If the match goes 4-5 sets as I don't think he's going to win in straights vs Chela's style, I can't see him outlasting the Argentine.

3. Clay's not even his best surface and he's had a fortunate draw in this tournament. Starace was not healthy, Mayer was fatigued from horrible scheduling, and Kubot was another qualifier running on fumes. As great as his run has been, there's been a lot of luck for him to advance this far.

I believe the best bet for Falla would be a 1st set wager or the over in the match, but gl with your play

Question for you Neg:  How do you know when to Hedge a Future Bet?  I know it depends on a lot of variables....i.e how they've played, if they're tired or injured, what the rest of the draw looks like, and how much you want to let it ride, or try to make some profit.  You put a little bit on Troicki today because of Murray's ankle injury, but is the Quarter-Finals a good place to start the hedge depending upon how much you have to win if the future bet hits?

Really depends on the draw, potential matchups, and odds of the future but QF's is usually too early just because you have the possibility of rolling over 3x with heavy juice for a hedge payout. It's basically chasing which can lead to problems and a very minor profit that required a lot of effort. Some people may disagree with that so do what you think is best with your money. Futures are long shots, you're not going to profit off them everytime.
I'd rather just take the risk and hope they make the SF to keep things fairly simple since I'm not too heavily invested in them most of the time.
Someone probably has better advice than this so ask around and find what works for you.

I've got 3 units on a Nadal future left with Soderling next so it's a tough spot considering how Rafa's been playing. I don't think Chela/Troicki/Murray will beat either of them in the semis so I might hedge here in some way. Still awaiting that expected rainfall, supposedly tonight and in the morning now, but it will depend on how slow the courts look tomorrow.

I would highly recommend hedging Sharapova if she meets Azarenka in the SF as I think Maria will bow out there with nice odds. Either of those two should be decent sized favourites if they make the finals versus Kuznetsova/Schiavone/Pavy/Bartoli.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking too (Semi-Finals) vs Azarenka or Na.  It just scares me a bit vs Petko.  She owns the 2-1 Head to Head advantage, but Petko beat her this year at the Australian Open, and had a set on her in Miami before eventually losing.
