There was nothing easy about that 1st set once Millman settled in after 0-3...it had 63 64 62 potential but Djokers bp % rate was his career worst...the ump decided to be a hero with his serve violation which ended up playing a huge factor too...i was unlucky to lose this wager, and Millman spread backers got lucky...thats how it goes.

My books are offering Over 3.5 sets and Over 34.5 games both at -138...the over 34.5 games is the better way to go, as 3 close sets like 76 63 76 wins the Over games wager while losing a Over 3.5 sets wager...still looking at this match in more detail throughout the day hoping to get some more personal info on these 2 from their social media outlets...theres also the US Open revenge angle here from when Nishi surprisingly beat Djoker to get to the finals few years ago...another positive angle here is Nishi won a set vs Djoker at this years Wimbledon which is not Keis surface of choice, so that tells me hes more than capable to play and hang with Djoker here given the enormous stakes...yet another positive angle here is this match wont likely start until well after 8pm assuming the Delpo Rafa match goes atleast 4 sets...one more angle as well here is the roof will likely be closed due to rain in the forecast and they wont dare take the risk to have any delays for these semifinals matches...im not a Niski fan at all, i actually really dislike him as a player and competitor as hes always complaining about something when things dont go his way and ive seen him quit on matches far too often when most other players with an ounce of his talent would keep fighting until the final point...plus going against Djoker is never a really good idea as hes quietly having a very good run here...Djoker has looked shaky at times, yet from a scoreline glance hes been winning handily...he looks like the humidity has really gotten to him at certain points in a match, yet his opponents were never the type of players who could take advantage and seize the moment....Kei is a consistent pusher and his weapon is taking a short ball in a rally and hitting a winner..his weakness is his serve and this doesnt bode well for him as Djoker likely will get a ton of bp looks...this match all depends on what type of mental fight and intestinal fortitude Nishikori brings to the court tonight...also, im sure he realizes national pride is on the line here unlike any other moment in Japanese sports history...to have a man and a woman in the same grand slam finals would be one of the greatest accomplishments for his country in the history of athletics...that pride factor could be just that extra bit of fuel to propel him in this match when it gets tight...i truly believe the dog here is live, but because he could easily lose a set 61 if he loses focus for 10 minutes, taking him at +6.5 games is something i want no part of...i think Over 34.5 games is the way to go here.

Always appreciate the write up Pack
Any idea why Nadal v. Delpo isn't the later match? I would think that one will certainly have more hype around it

I have no idea, maybe it was a blessing to be 1st up...the winner will have more time post match to recover on a somewhat normal routine (getting off the court around 8pm the latest? rather than 11pm-ish for Djoker or Kei?)...the heat is the heat, the humidity is also not going away...id rather be up first too and get into the rehab room sooner, and keep on a normal sleep routine

it's so difficult to choose between over 35.5 and over 3.5 sets with basically same price. In some reason I'm not seeing ultra equal sets - as neither Nole / esp Nishikori is service machine. Which would lead to assume over sets is more likely... Even the score 7/6 7/5 6/4 f.e. isn't enough for over 35.5...
packer, what was your logic behind preferring over games?

Locked in:
Djoker Delpo Over 3.5 sets (-188)...this will be my largest wager amount in 2018...15u...7500/11500
Both players unquestionably are the two best players going over the past 2 weeks and fully deserve to be here...picking a side here is quite difficult in my opinion as there is nothing to choose between the two here, arguments can be made for both players why to back each one on the ML...purely for value Delpo +190 is the obvious choice, but that means you are betting against the best player in the game in 2018 in Djoker...is that where you want to invest your money here? Not me...and im a huge Delpo fan and realize hes playing a special level of tennis we all wished to see for many years now, however injuries have held him back for the most part. What will happen today? My best guess is that they split the first two sets which is the best case scenario for this wager....if someone gets up 2 sets, i will be betting live on that guy to win the 3rd set to soften the loss here and recoup about 5u...it will still sting if indeed this match ends in 3 sets, but i have to trust my cap here...if they split the first 2 sets here, i will walk away a few units up for this event with all the ingame wagering and exotics i have placed on the side.
Good luck fellas whoever agrees with the over 3.5 sets...lets hope for a stress free 3rd set and just enjoy the match!
