What are u getting at Racrr?  Someone said he might have sold his soul to the devil.  For only 100k I would hope he would ask for more then that.  My guess he didn't take it serious and to start the new year he put some focus into it. 

My ? is does he play espn streak for cash and if he does. What was the longest streak, he ever had on there.

UForce I'm on the same page as you.  Too bad the game got cancelled.  The way the line was moving he could have possibly been able to hedge Nets at +9 and maybe middle to hit both.  Paying the taxes should be the least of his worries until he has the money.  Go get it Brackson!!

The Nets/Blazers game has been rescheduled for April 6th. You don't have to wait until then, do you?

It's not that simple. If you read my posts concerning this I bring up real issues involving logistics as well. The Taxes and possible legal ramifications of doing this transaction with an "Investor" is where this becomes a REAL issue. Like I have posted before 95% of the people in the U.S. simply don't have $25K, $35K or $50K laying around to take that kind of cash into a Casino in Vegas to Hedge. If you think this is a simple deal in 2015 you're sadly mistaken especially at the last minute. 

Let me give you a real life example. Let's say you had $25,000 in the Bank right now. I guarantee you that if you tried to take out that much cash your Bank would delay that transaction. Call your bank and ask them then got back to us. You may get a real shock. So this hedging thing is a real fantasy that wouldn't fly in so many ways it's not even funny.

i do play a couple other streak contests. espn streak for the cash i have a .625 win pct, but longest streak is only 10. i also play on bookmaker, where i only hit 55%, longest streak is 8. the bookmaker streak contest is part of the reason i had the L12 streak in december. in a few of those games, i was just taking the opposite of my bookmaker streak pick to make sure i got a win on one or the other.

and no, thankfully i do not have to wait until april 6th to make another pick. i can pick anytime between tomorrow and february 2nd. good luck to everyone that has a pick today, and thoughts, prayers, good juju goes out to anyone in the region of the country affected by this godforsaken blizzard. stay safe and warm.

That's gotta be the best rumor yet!  So much better to see someone with either a sense of humor or at least a better thought process outside of "is covers gonna stop the contest if brackson wins?"  I've gotten so sick of seeing that kind of talk even coming from people who have 40k+ posts on this site it's amazing!!

Sucks that the pick got pushed Brackson, I'm gonna send a friend request to you b/c I'm in New England and I probably won't have power tomorrow or the next day or even week so I'd like to find your pick and analysis on my phone or outside computer quicker and as always GOOD LUCK AND CRUSH IT MY FRIEND!  And don't listen to any of the haters or doubters or conspiracy theorists!

I wonder what would have happened if you waited a week to make a pick and today was your deadline to make a pick. Would the push have been considered your pick or would you be SOL??

I believe I read on the page before this that he has until Feb 2nd to make his next pick.

Covers can do anything they want in regards to the website, However, if you know anything about marketing, the objective of the Free Contests is to get people to come to the website, which if they did hide or charge for free contest would very likely create losses rather than more income, marketing 101.  For example, I have in the past paid for alot of picks from covers under different names and lost alot of money on lousy paid picks, however, I found the pure desire to pick a winner, one winner a day in the free contests, actually had a hirer rate of return than the burnt out paid pickers. Covers also makes a boatload of money on the never ending commercials they post for you name it, citibank, chevy, acer, and on and on, so in the interest of keeping us all opening this website, the short answer is no, they will not change much if anything to the current format.

If I were covers.com, i would put 50k on whatever you pick, so I would only have to pay you 50k no matter what the outcome, because lets face it, god wouldn't bet against you right now.

More than likely, they have an insurance policy...most companies that run these type of contests purchase in insurance policy that pays the winner....they are more than happy about this run, as they have the same amount of skin in the game but are getting more press and hits on their website...

Im in new york city now and its not that bad,but this just a warmup this blizzard is coming. They shutting down buses subways and metronorth at 11pm. Im trying to get out of nyc before i get stuck here for 3 days at my job..haha

I was just talking in general. Now that Covers has paid $100,000 and perhaps I'm wrong, but this will be the first time ever someone has won that money, right?

People in the same contest can pick the same picks to increase their chances and people still do.

I was just wondering what could happen if they are multiple winners within a calendar year.

Like someone said, people thought 25 straight games ATS was impossible and he's making it look so easy.

He's caught some breaks, but you need those in this contest.
