Thanks for the props brother. You are giving me too much credit for my picks. I am very sad that football is coming to an end. I actually have a couple of job offers I am looking at because football season is coming to an end and I am getting bored out of my mind not being able to breakdown games all day long. It has been a great season and with it all coming to an end in a week I am becoming quite depressed and counting down the days to the draft and the preseason. I have already been breaking down college football and watching the recruiting trails of many teams (my Bruins aren't doing that well with the prep players). March maddness and baseball should be great this year...can't wait!!!! Well I am not sure about the Superbowl, yet. The two weeks break is just too much for me and I don't want to dwell on the game too much. My first thought is Chicago. I bought tthem up to eight and will wait til next sunday to make my official bet. I figured the line would go down from the opening number and expect it to keep dropping. Might try to hit a middle or something. I am leaning towards the under even though the past I don't know superbowls have gone over. 48.5 is a big number. I expect that number to drop. So i guess you can put me down for the Bears and the under for now and we'll probabaly make an adjustment before the kickoff. GL T.D. and everyone else!!!!

Johnny...the reason my fonts are big is because my eyes are so bad I can't type well without seeing large print...I need "magnifying eye glasses" from Walgreens just to read y'alls posts...and after about 30 minutes they give me a splitting headache....just wait till you are pushing 50, young buck!! The only thing worse than my eyes are my reconstructed knees!
I know I know...I should call and play the Super Bowl but I usually don't play games that I can't get a solid handle on (sat out NE/SD a few weeks back)...I may do something late if I get a solid feel for the game but I am looking forward to having you guys "decide" my bet...it's all for grins...and if I hit it, great..and if I don't, no big deal!
You make very solid points in your posts and good luck on your play, Johnny ...we may be on the same side - lol!!!

I am not giving you too much credit, hollywood....you know exactly what you are doing with first halves, second halves and totals...and I know you've made a ton of greenbacks...not too bad for a big-time California Cool Cat who has never coached a down of football and doesn't know Cover 2 from a fly route (just razzin' ya!- )...I got you down for Chicago/Under....Hope all is well in The Land of Milk and Honey...btw, living in Big D still sucks and I'm still California dreamin'! LOL!

Well just wait 'til baseball season.. you make it out to Cali and we'll sit right above the Dodger dugout and take in a Dodger game. I hate the Dodgers so they'll have to play the cubbies or padres so I can cheer for a real ballclub.
p.s. I might ride that Serena train and take her +175 against Sharapova. I think i want to see if i can keep winning these crazy bets I've been playing....hit the NHL allstar game over....

That's my boy hollywood.....talking that smack again - LOL!!!
Good luck with your tennis, lacrosse and college field hockey bets...are you not playing the Cockroach Races yet?? I got "Little Hermie" in the upcoming Raid 500 Invitational..... he's paying 4-1!

Those are hilarious, hollywood....the other guys are going to get mad at us for posting non-football related posts but I just can't help myself...
I parlayed the over with the "Iron Man" ad (O/U 516 times) with the over in the annoying "This Is Our Country" ad (O/U 2,746 times) for seven units...hoping the hot blonde &brunette chip eating ad goes WAY over the total of 73!!! And what is an '80's act like Prince doing at the Super Bowl? Was Duran Duran, Journey or Loverboy unavailable??
And I never get tired of the "It's The Mirrors" ad because - as you know - that precious little girl reminds this bitter and cynical old man of the beautiful daughter he never had!! WAY over 212 I hope!

I know everyone is getting pissed off BUT the game is ten days away. I'd rather hear about your commercial prop bets then the following non-handicapping conversations bound to take place between now and then:
The weather in Miami and who is going to benefit.
Which airline each team will travel on and that will affect the total.
Which teams players bang the most south beach prostitutes the night before the game (inside sources).
Compare Dan Marino and Peyton Manning and how this is probably Peyton's last chance and I should take the colts because of that.
Which direction the wind is blowing and into what teams bench.
Which team some dude's wife picked and that she has gone 12-2 ATS because she picks uniform colors and not teams (one of my favorites).
Who Hammerin Hank Goldburg picked and his ATS record.
The coin flip bet.
Which numbers you were given in your office pool.
How Rex Grossman is the worst superbowl QB ever to play when he still has not even taken a snap.

Scorpio, you pick a side, and i'll pick a total with your approval and ill lay that 100 parlay for you and mail you the ticket IF you committ to a side.

Chicago D is sick - but Manning is the least touched QB in this league. Sacked a total of 19 times all season including playoffs, and I think I heard he is touched on about 12% of all plays. Now that's sick!

Sorry it has been a while celebrating my anniversary got me a little backed up on buisness at work.
I will post more later, but if i'm not mistaken no dome team has ever won the Super Bowl. You cannot really count Dallas because it's not a full dome, but their is a good chance that the Colts may break that trend.
As long as Manning does not wear out the Bears defense like he did to the Pats the Bears can keep this one close to pull out a victory. Rex is too inconsistent for me the Bears defense will have to keep Peyton & company in check the whole game.
The AFC has dominated the Super Bowl as of late, but the funny thing is that the AFC teams that have been winning the Super Bowls are used to playing outdoors and in bad weather. The Pats, Steelers, Ravens, etc.
My lean so far is on the Bears, but will post more later. Probably wondering why the Bears? They have a local boy from Hawaii playing at center.
Aloha and good luck to all

I can only imagine how confusing the conversation at the line of scrimage is going to be between thse 2 teams. Manning and Urlacher both call their plays/sets at the line of scrimmage. There's going to be like 30 seconds of screaming jibberish and funny hand signals on boh sides of the ball for every 7 seconds worth of play.

BIG D - Your local boy Kruetz is the foundation of our team.He and our long snapper Pat Mannely are the 2 oldest veterans they have been here for almost 10 years now. No one on this team deserves this more then Kruetz Five cosecutive Pro Bowls. He been through hell and back with the Bears.

Bears are gonna run the ball a lot becuz they are good at that and mix it up alittle with the short pass just to build up Grossman's confidence into making far passes...i know Indy D sucks but it gonna have to stop Bears runnin game and read tha Bears PASSES.....
INDY passing game is good, Manning is playing more conservative and making good decisions....gonna be aCLOSE GAME....have to get drunk and think more about this game.....
Thinking about INDY not too sure until i put MONEY on the line
SEE U GUYS NEXT YEAR

Same worn, tired argument: Peyton Manning isn't the same on grass. This will amount to a low-scoring affair. Manning doesn't like crossing the line of scrimmage when forced out of the pocket. This will be to the Bears advantage. Even Grossman is more likely to run when prompted than Manning. It will also come down to some quirky defensive MVP or the like. Bears will keep a perfect Super Bowl record, winning their long-awaited second, 23-17.
