Here's the update...look at how close this is...no wonder I am struggling with making a pick I am solidly comfortable with...the possibilities seem even in this one..no consensus among the bettors...
Is the Senior Bowl not on TV anymore? I can't find it on my TV line-up. I used to scout that damn game and let me tell ya Mobile is a beautiful place in January! (lol!) I don't have a pick yet, hollywood...and will play one of the four possibilities above depending which gets the most votes...plus Dr J and I are going to do a parlay together...congrats on hitting the Venus tennis match...I saw she won on SportsCenter and thought of you cashing in...
I really wish I liked college basketball and the NBA as I am going through "withdrawals" like a lot of you...I heard the digital cable package that MLB offers with tons of games will no longer be available and you have to have Direct TV to get all the games...have you guys heard that too?...oh well, good thing these Cockroach races are working out for me!

I don't know what this means other than the fact it seems that the state of florida is doing a lot of celebrating lately. Maybe they are not yet done celebrating.

Congrats on your 800th post!!!!! At the pace you're on you will be All Star status by April. The Senior Bowl is on the NFL network. The north is killing the south. History always repeats itself. The offense and defense of lines from the North are just overpowering the boys from the south....Oh well. Yeah scorp it sounds like you need directv to get that baseball package.

I just love the over......Over....Over......did I say I like the Over??? This game will be a close game........both teams will move the ball......both QB's will play good enough to win...........whoever turns the ball over the least amount of times..........in big games.......it usually comes down to that and who kicks the ball better.....field goals and punts........
Any thoughts on these topics out there boys and girls????

Senior bowl is not going to come in, hopefully the second half under does. T.D. let me ask you a simple question: What line would you have set for this superbowl with these two teams playing on a neutral field with no significant injuries.Don't over analyze and go into your X and O's. Don't tell me seven either. Actually I would love to see what everyone in here thinks. Please everyone post what you think or thought the line should be or was going to be.
My number is Indy -4

My apologies for posting this here. Scorpio - DirecTv rocks. Full NFL & College Football package, really helps the handicapping. Great picture, very seldom lose signal unless the weather is total shit & then it's only for a few minutes. Free dvr. I've had it forever & would NEVER give it up. Getting ready to up to HD thanks to last weeks results Never subscribed to MLB, prefer baseball in person.

For them cappers who like to over analyze, here is some more useless information. Lovie Smith was the defense of backs coach at Tennesse back in '94. Who was the quarterback he faced everyday in practice that year? Yes kids, yours truly Peyton Manning. Peyton was only a freshmen in '94 and the next year Lovie moved on to bigger and better things.

I knew the line was going to be at 7 and if you look back to the indy/new england thread i posted that in the forum before that game was over (actually i put 6.5). I knew that the line makers would open up with that because they make the number based on the general publics thoughts and tendencies. So you think the line is right on and in that case would make you undecided about your pick.....i am about to be a veteran!!!!!!

JT - I think it's a good number they put out there. Anything less people would be pounding the favorite, and from what I read they are drawing even action with maybe a small lean to Chicago. Doesn't mean I don't like the Colts. How does that make me undecided about my pick? Just don't know what you meant there.
Holla back veteran.

Well what I meant is the book sets the line to get equal action on both sides. So if you think the line should be indy -7 i assume that you are telling me that would be the "magic number" and the action would be equal to both sides. Like myself I like Chicago, 7 is too much in my eyes. In my eyes if the line was -4 or 4.5 i would be undecided in my pick. So for those that like Chicago I want to see what their "magic number" would be and those that like Indy theor "magic number". So Joe Shmo that keeps posting that the Bears are going to win I want to see if their "line' is Chicago -2 or whatever. Basically most lines makers have a line out or a number in their head when they see a match up. Alot of pro cappers sit down every monday morning or sunday night and make their own lines for each game. Then when they see the books lines they compare their lines with the books and then make their picks. If their number for a certain game is way off of the books then of course those games are bigger plays.

For some reason I'm leaning towards the UNDER. Grossman scares me. The Indy defense has been playing lights out in the post-season. The Chicago defense will have alot of time to prepare and they do have playmakers. I'm thinking the total will be around 40 to 45. Did I mention Grossman scares me. Give me some input and insight boys.

Thanks for participating. So you think Indy wins this by a touchdown? Or now that you have the number below 7 you will play indy and lay the points. Let me ask you this, if the line was 8.5 would that change your indy pick (of course if you are currently leaning towards that pick).

I'm looking for some more help. I have a couple of prop bets I am looking at betting with my book but I just can't decide which bet to pick. Here are my choices:
Eugene Robinson prop (the player from Indianapolis or Chicago to get caught with a South Beach prostitute, Peyton Manning is 5000 to 1)
Ray Lewis prop (the first NFL player to get arrested for a double murder during superbowl week, can't play on the current roster of either Chicago or Indianapolis, all Cincinnati players are even money).
Barret Robbins prop (the first player to get sent home from the superbowl for doing something stupid, must play for Indy or Chicago. Mike Vanderjat would have been nice play if he was still on the colts)

I like the under also. If you want insight and information well you might be in the right place or this could be the wrong place. You sound as confused as a ten year old boy who plays with his sister's barbi dolls. In this forum you will find some information and facts but most of the stuff in here is speculation. Now it seems as if you want to play Chicago but you want to talk yourself out of it. Yes Grossman can be scary at times but don't dwell on that. He can also be great at times but that should not be a topic of discusion here either, we can speculate on what he might do but that will drive you into a mental house before this game even starts. I can also tell you that Indianapolis' run defense scares me but we don't need to go there. There is a reson the Bears are "underdogs" because of the "scary" factors. Let me ask you what you think the score will be...but don't think about it to long. What is your first thought?

Montana is the best qb...... i agree irisheyes.....
maybe 6 point tease......
colts -1 over 42 1/2......... 24-17 is a push in the under, and won't tease out
da bears +13 under 54 1/2....... THAT SOUNDS BEAUTIFUL.......... little side bet
but my play is INDY MONEYLINE>>>>>>> call me stupid.... call me crazy..... but im paying for my point deduction and taking the team i think is going to win......

I think Indy -4 or -4.5 sounds about right, hollywood...they are the "glamour" team that the public would be more likely to bet on I guess...they are playing on a neutral field in this one, aren't they?...I don't know a lot about setting a line...
In Chicago's 18 games, the Over is 13-5 and in Indy was 8-8 in totals during the regular season and has been 1-2 Over in their three play-off games....I hate totals, Irisheyes, and I am lousy at picking them...but Indy's offense can flat-out score once they get into a rhythm and the Bears can score with any of their three units on the field... I think I like the over here...which means the under is likely a lock...
I think the a wet sloppy field may even out BreakABookie..Indy's passing game may have the edge you mentioned but the run game of the Bears with Jones/Benson could be an asset for them...I would think Benson would be the best slogger and mudder of the four backs involved...with Rhodes being a distant second...hard to say exactly how bad weather would totally play out...
Good luck, fellas...eight days to go!!
