Just curious if anyone else has the following thought. All the troubles getting money to and from the sportsbook is not such a bad thing. I'm not referring to those who have a ton of money out there already. I'm talking about those who generally lose and have to often reload and now they have to deal with all these hassles and say, it's not worth it and save their money which they likely would have lost anyway.

That's a nice thought, there is just one problem..............................Vegas was not built with winners and that sure as hell holds tru wit online gambling. Tha bottom line is yu gotta have those people who "just play" and lose. No book would survive if everyone won all tha time, and anyone who did this for a livin would have to go and get a real job. Don't get me wrong, I don't want to see people throw away their hard earn money, and I don't want to see kids fuck their parents credit up, but yu have to have tha sucka betters that really don't know what their doing for this industry, sportsbooks and pro betters, to make any money.

Taking the book and bettors out of the equation, it seems that 2 entities benefit the most from sports gambling . . . the teams/organizations (ncaa) and the rightholders who pay millions of dollars annually to put these teams/sports on television. Both of those entities seem to have ample political clout. Perhaps, a course of action could be to apply pressure on either one of those entities. I figure you can rule out the NCAA, but that leaves many others. Basically, I'm following up on the DTV Sunday Ticket proposal.
A single type of pressure can be felt by all these teams/sports/televsion companies . . . TV Ratings.
Ways to impact ratings in an attention gathering manner include,
Using MLB.COM for baseball viewing for a certain team and specific times.
Encouraging all sports gamblers who are selected to be Neilsen viewers to not watch a specified sport during a certain time period. (neilsen strives for one viewing box per zip code in most metro areas for overnight ratings reporting purposes)
Using Digital Cable (for alternative viewings of an event already on standard cable. in most TV DMA's, these channels are not metered for ratings purposes)
There are many other ways to impact the ratings process as well. A concentrated effort by Covers and/or the Industry to make statements of this manner may get the attention of those who obtain a substantial unintended benefit from the sports gambling industry.
In addition, most pro-sports teams are very sensitive to fan complaints, has anyone ever written a sports team to complain about sports gambling ? doubtful, aside from the few and far between betting scandals. what would happen if legions of sports gamblers, especially the recreational players, launched a campaign towards the pro teams, a campaign that encouraged a regulated and taxed industry. Just imagine the stadiums they could build then.

I'm not sure excactly sure what anyone expect to accomplish by not watchin sports, writing congressmen, and all that other bull shit. I don't mean to be tha hater but, tha cat is already out tha bag. This is a 12 billion a year business (not to mention what gamblers make and DON'T REPORT TO THA IRS) and tha US gov't ain't gettin any of it. Let me repeat that, THA US GOVERNMENT DIDN'T MAKE ONE PENNY OFF OF INTERNET GAMBLING. So yall think that by canceling a few subscriptions and writing some currupt politicians, that's gonna make them leave us alone. Yea right. They are gonna do two thangs. Either regulate and tax it, or try and stop it all together. Well stopping it completely ain't gonna happen, and they aren't willing to come up wit a way to tax it. So I'm not sure what tha gov't is gonna do, but to go to them and beg them to leave us alone is to little to late.

This is simply not true.
Most bigtime gamblers pay taxes, especially the poker playing community. This is the group that most tax revenue would come from anyway as smaller gamblers are usually the ones who dont win on an annual basis and if they do, its obviously not very much.
Now Im not saying its 100% or anything close, but to say that its zero is simply incorrect.

All those Laws & regulations are just trying to put away the huge profits and the benefits that this Industry gives every day to those ones that are not official conected to the MAFIA, and for those ones that are not giving them their ^piece of the cake¨ that they think they Deserve as they are the Oficial Business Managers & the Industry Creators... You have to know that they have been working for years to make this Industry a profitable business, so they want it all, this is their rule number one..., if you are not one of them, you are against them, and they will keep fighting untill they take you away from their Business.
