LPU was flat out beaten in the first round but this team has overhauled itself with Mbomiko improving tremendously. JRU has regressed and would need to see their shots fall to gain momentum and confidence in their running game. Playing the OVER is a smart move here with LPU always playing up to the competition and has proven that they could run with any team. I see a close one here.
Letran and San Sebastian tangles for the second game. The earlier head-to-head saw CSJL get an ugly win from the Stags. SSC kept on attacking them from the get go in the opener till they let up in the end. CSJL look to be poised on keeping their good form till the final four as evident in their last game against Perpetual. They should be able to neutralize the up-tempo game by the Stags with their size and heft. Letran by double digit here.
As for the UAAP game, I think we'll see a closer one here. De La Salle kept the Tigers at bay in the second half but that was with the help of early fouls by the underdog. The Archers went down to work on the post and has gotten a lot from it. They control the glass in their head-to-head and is comfortably dominating the paint. The long week helps UST more than DLSU because they are obviously in need of rest after battling out a tough Bulldog team. They should've reloaded by now and should keep this within covering distance.
