SportsMavin - Followed your thread in NFL and thought it was good reading.  New to NBA (as fan, and gambler), and I think your advice is very solid.  Question:  What is your general opinion/experience about people who post multiple plays for a single night.  I know in the past, especially in NFL, it's a recipe for disaster.  I think the road to a positive bankroll is to pick your best 1-2 games.  That said, I lost 4 units tailing someone by putting in all 6 of his plays (I would never blame that person.....it was my decision to tail and play that many games and tail to start with).    I've alway felt that with proper handicapping in football, if you can pull out 1 - 2 that you have high confidence in, you're doing well.  Nice job, and look forward to reading more from you.  This stuff takes a lot of time, so appreciate your contribution!

Now, please tell me why you like Under at the Staples Center and Boston to cover? I'm not doubting your plays - but would like to hear your reasoning for such early leans

My main goal besides producing profits on a permanent bases is developing the tools and methodology for successful sports handicapping. Number of the games played at a given night should be derived from the quality of the chosen picks but should not exceed a preset number of plays for the reason of maintaining control over the bankroll. In that sense - having 2 successful picks is way better than going 4-2 or even 6-3 as the risk level rises with each pick and the money dedicated to it. Because 6-3 means it could easily went 5-4 or 4-5 etc and risking 9 units on one night would be stupid IMO. But with 2 or 3 picks - even occasional bad evening is not a tragedy you have to work few days to get it back or even worse - chase it and ruin your whole bankroll

This is one of the myths that I never understand. Obviously, if a person is playing every game on board, that would be a problem. Otherwise, why wouldn't he play them all if those games qualify under the criterias he set out?

Thursday has its characteristics and one of them is that the games have to be capped close to the tip off if at all. Two games today and as I believe - players themselves did not decide yet where they wanna take us tonight. It is definitely is not a landslide wins night. So, right now I don't even have leans. Later

Respectfully, you are missing my point. Case in point, a friend of mine has been making money betting NBA for last 7 years. He would have as many as 6-7 plays a night or as little as none. He manages to win so it doesn't make any sense why he should limit to a # of plays per night. There are different ways to skin a cat so to speak.
