LIV Golf London Picks & Odds: DJ Takes Aim at Top Prize

Dustin Johnson may have lost his title as King of LIV to Talor Gooch after the latter became the first three-time winner on the young tour last week in Spain. See why we like DJ to potentially re-take that crown in London in our betting picks.

We're treated to back-to-back weeks of LIV Golf action as the tour heads to Centurion Club for its London event.

Talor Gooch has all the momentum after winning for the third time in five tries over the weekend. However, he still trails a trio of LIV stars at the top of the betting board this week.

We break down his chances and more in our full LIV Golf London betting preview below, including golf odds, free golf betting picks, and more.

LIV Golf London picks and predictions

Dustin Johnson (+1,000 — 0.5 units)

For the first time since he joined this rival circuit, we probably can no longer declare Dustin Johnson as the “king of LIV Golf” following Talor Gooch’s third win on the LIV tour at last week’s event in Spain. With that said, I expect DJ to reclaim the throne sooner rather than later.

DJ once again finds himself toward the top of the odds board for LIV London, which makes sense considering his recent form. After his T10 performance at the U.S. Open, he finished ninth at LIV Valderrama, which marked his best finish since his victory at LIV Tulsa.

We should expect this strong play to continue at Centurion Club, a venue at which he finished in eighth-place last season. It is also no secret that DJ can drive the hell out of the ball. In his last full season on TOUR, he ranked seventh in average driving distance.

Sergio Garcia (+2,500 — 0.35 units)

We see a sharp decrease in odds this week for Sergio Garcia, who was priced at 12/1 at his home course last week in Spain. This decrease makes sense, but it is an over-adjustment.

At that aforementioned event, Garcia finished in 11th place, which marked his eighth Top 15 finish across his past 13 LIV events. Over that same stretch, he also posted a T27 at the U.S. Open against an obviously much-stronger field.

Another reason we are catching Garcia at 25/1 is the fact that he finished 24th here last season. With that said, he is striking the ball well right now, and that is too long of a price to pass up.

Peter Uihlein (+3,500 — 0.2 units)

Finally, we are going to target DJ’s teammate Peter Uihlein. A boom-or-bust golfer, Uihlein has struggled recently, capped off by his 43rd-place finish at last week’s event in Spain. With that said, when his game is on, he is one of the best golfers in LIV Golf, and I believe now is the time to buy low.

He started the season off in dominant fashion, posting four straight Top 10 finishes, including his runner-up performance at Mayakoba. In fact, no one else on LIV has come as close as Uihlein to winning without actually doing so, evidenced by his three runner-up finishes since joining the rival circuit last year.

He also posted a fourth-place finish here last year, which is not all that surprising given that Uihlein is a long hitter off the tee. In fact, he ranks first on LIV this season in average driving distance, pacing DJ by nearly eight yards.

LIV Golf London field and favorites

Talor Gooch's victory in Andalucia marked his third over the last five LIV events but oddsmakers are still giving Brooks Koepka, Cam Smith, and Dustin Johnson the edge when the field heads to London.

Koepka's success at the Masters and PGA Championship is well-documented but he also finished third last week and enters the week a +700 betting favorite. Having both recorded Top-10 finishes at the recent U.S. Open, Cam and DJ round out the Top 3 at 8/1 and 10/1, respectively.

Then we get to Talor Gooch, who comes to Centurion Club on a continued heater. His +1,100 odds this week would be the shortest he's seen with LIV Golf, with his three recent victories coming with closing odds of 25/1, 16/1, and 16/1.

Bryson DeChambeau sits fifth on the board (+1,200) after more encouraging play last week. He finished runner-up in Andalucia after a run of quality finishes that included a T4 at Oak Hill and a T20 at the U.S. Open. Could this be the week he finally gets back into the Winner's Circle?

Centurion Club course notes

Centurion Club hosts LIV Golf in its ninth event of the season following last week's tournament in Spain. The club opened in 2013 and has hosted numerous world golf events since, including last year’s inaugural LIV tournament.

A Par-72, 7,094-yard track (yardage subject to change) designed by Simon Gidman, Centurion Club also hosted last year’s LIV London event, a tournament in which Charl Schwartzel won by one stroke over teammate Hennie du Plessis. This week marks the first time that LIV returns to a course for a second time.

The driver is the most important club in the bag this week, with tight fairways and a layout that benefits long hitters.
