The 89th edition of the Masters Tournament gets underway this week at Augusta National Golf Club in Georgia. The top two names dominate the odds board, with Scottie Scheffler priced as the +400 favorite and Rory McIlroy close behind at +650.

The board opens up from there, with Jon Rahm returning 13-1. Below, I break down the Masters odds and offer Masters predictions for how this trio of favorites will fare at Augusta National.

Scottie Scheffler odds analysis and best bet

Despite not winning a tournament since late 2023, there’s no denying Scottie Scheffler as the best golfer in the world. He remains No. 1 in both the Official World Golf Ranking and Data Golf Ranking and currently has the shortest golf odds to win the tournament at +400.

That said, I won’t be backing him at that number. He's the defending champion and has won two of the past three Masters tournaments, but there are reasons for caution this time, starting with his recent form.

Scottie's yet to win in 2025, marking six straight events without lifting a trophy. He had won two of his previous three tournaments before the 2024 Masters win and three of his past five before winning in 2022.

It’s also extremely difficult to defend a title at Augusta National. Tiger Woods was the last to do it, going back-to-back in 2001 and 2002. Between Scottie's 2022 and 2024 wins, he finished T10 — a result I see as more likely than a third victory.

Best bet: Scottie Scheffler Top 10 (-250 at DraftKings)

Rory McIlroy odds analysis and best bet

Rory McIlroy may be under the most pressure of any golfer this week. The elusive Green Jacket is the only thing missing from his illustrious resume, and given his recent form, he’s become a trendy pick to win.

He's won two of five events in 2025 and hasn’t finished worse than 17th in any of them. His game is strong and he's gaining strokes in nearly every statistical category, but will that be enough for him to finally conquer Augusta? I believe so, but his +650 price is too short for my liking.

I'd be willing to take a shot if McIlroy were priced closer to 10/1, but I’m not backing such a short number on a player who’s recently struggled at Augusta. He did finish runner-up to Scheffler in 2022, but he's failed to crack the Top 20 in three other appearances at the Masters since 2021, even missing the cut twice.

His odds are inflated by recency bias and the “This is his year!” narrative. That said, he’s still a strong bet to win the UK and Ireland nationality prop. His top competition there is Tommy Fleetwood, who’s never won at Augusta or anywhere on the PGA Tour.

These two last competed at THE PLAYERS Championship, where McIlroy won and Fleetwood finished T11.

Best bet: Rory McIlroy Top UK and Ireland (+130 at DraftKings)

Jon Rahm odds analysis and best bet

Jon Rahm holds the shortest odds among LIV Golf players at 13/1. He won the 2023 Masters and has been dominant on the LIV circuit since then.

He's finished in the Top 10 in each of his past 10 LIV events, including two wins. While LIV doesn’t offer the same depth as the PGA Tour, the top names are still highly competitive.

LIV’s Big 4 — Rahm, Bryson DeChambeau, Brooks Koepka, and Joaquin Niemann — all rank among the Top 11 betting favorites for the Masters, making Rahm’s consistency impressive.

He’s also finished in the Top 10 in five of his past seven appearances at Augusta, a trend I expect to continue this year.

Best bet: Jon Rahm Top 10 (+125 at DraftKings)
