World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler is looking for his second win at Augusta National and the third Tour victory of his 2024 season. He can also become the first betting favorite in the Masters odds to win the Green Jacket since Tiger Woods accomplished the feat in 2001 and 2002.

Here’s my analysis, outlook, and Masters predictions for Scheffler ahead of the season's first major.

Scottie Scheffler Masters 2024 odds

Scottie Scheffler current form

Scheffler’s form is the best on the planet. Statistically, he’s first in true strokes gained tee-to-green over the past six months in this field, and he has three wins, four more Top-5 finishes, and another three Top 10s across his last 11 events. Perhaps even more telling is his worst result being a T17 at the Amex during the scorching stretch.

Even scarier, he’s gained true strokes putting in each of his past three events after switching to a Spider short stick.

Scottie Scheffler Masters history

The 2022 Masters champion followed with a T10 last season for four consecutive T20s to start his Augusta National career. He's also played nine of his past 10 rounds under par.

Similar to his current form, Scheffler’s track record in the Masters is tip-top.

Why Scottie Scheffler will win the 2024 Masters

The unparalleled tee-to-green game clogs the headlines, but Scheffler’s greatest strength is his consistency and patience. His poor rounds are few and far between, and he collects pars in bunches until the scoring opportunities present themselves. Simply put, the World No. 1 seldom makes mistakes or beats himself.

Additionally, his touch around the greens is every bit as sound as his tee game and approach play. So, his added confidence with the putter and growing familiarity with Augusta National make Scheffler the rightful betting favorite and a tough player to beat across 72 holes this week.

Why Scottie Scheffler won't win the 2024 Masters

It’s going to take four special rounds to beat Scheffler this week. He may wish a few more putts fell when it’s all said and done Sunday, but so will the rest of the field. After all, no one makes everything.

Still, if he starts turning too many birdies into pars and too many pars into bogeys, it will open the door for another player firing on all cylinders to win the 2024 Masters.

Scottie Scheffler best bet for the 2024 Masters

The weather forecast is giving us a good number here and Scheffler has carded sub-70 opening rounds in each of his past two trips to Augusta. Additionally, he’s gone Under this 70.5 total in 29 consecutive rounds dating back to the final round of The Sentry in January.

His ball-striking can play in a blizzard and if conditions become too difficult, I’m expecting play to be suspended. Plus, the rain will soften and slow the track to improve scoring conditions once the tournament resumes.

There are enough birdie opportunities at Augusta National, and Scheffler’s entire game is in strong enough form to fire a 70-or-better opening round.

Best bet: Round 1 score Under 70.5 (+110 at Caesars)
