Betting Tiger Woods at the Masters is like eating that extra piece of cake. You know you shouldn’t do it but you’re probably going to anyway.

The five-time Masters champion returns to his home-away-from-home as a longshot to win his sixth Green Jacket.

Let’s break down his Masters odds and the best way to add the golf GOAT to your Masters predictions as he prepares to walk around Augusta National for the 26th time.

Tiger Woods Masters 2024 odds

Tiger Woods current form

Woods hasn’t played four rounds of championship golf since the 2023 Genesis Invitational and had to withdraw from last year's Masters after two rounds. He’s only played one competitive round this year — once again at Riviera — and had to withdraw due to the flu and back spasms.

Tiger Woods Masters history

Tiger's five Green Jackets trail only the great Jack Nicklaus' record of six Masters titles. Woods claimed four wins at Augusta National between 1997 and 2005, then waited 14 years before earning his somewhat surprising victory in 2019. His results since then: T38, 47, and WD.

Why Tiger Woods will win the 2024 Masters

It’s Tiger Woods. He’s won this tournament five times. He hasn’t missed a cut here since 1996. He's motivated to set the record with 24 consecutive made cuts at Augusta and no other golf course on Earth rewards knowledge and experience of the course more than this one. He has more of that than anyone else in the field.

His knowledge of the ins and outs of Augusta allows him to step over every shot with a pretty good idea of what he must do to be successful in any given situation. The question is: will his body allow him to hit those required shots?

Why Tiger Woods won't win the 2024 Masters

Spoiler alert... his body will probably betray him. It seems crazy, but we're now five years removed from Tiger’s 2019 victory. Tack on the 2021 car wreck that had some wondering whether he would ever play a competitive round of golf again and Tiger’s body is far from prestine.

Injuries have limited him to just six tournaments since the 2022 Masters, and he’s missed the cut or withdrawn four times in that span. Augusta's hilly terrain is unforgiving for a golfer with a bad... well... everything in Tiger's case. Father time remains undefeated, even for Tiger Woods.

Tiger Woods best bet for the 2024 Masters

I looked very hard at Tiger to make the cut at even money. I believe he really wants to set that made-cut record. However, it’s just so hard to trust that Tiger will be able to make it through two rounds unscathed.

Instead, let’s bank on Tiger’s knowledge of this course to help him sink a few birdies in Round 1 without inevitable bogeys holding us back. He's averaged 3.4 birdies or better in Round 1 at The Masters over his last five starts there, draining at least three in all five.

At +120, this is the best Tiger bet on the board and one that shouldn't be held back from the deterioration of his body.

Best bet: To make 4+ birdies or better — Round 1 (+120 at FanDuel)

He began at Covers as a news editor and has now done everything under the sun when it comes to content. His work has been seen on TSN, Sportsnet, VSiN, and CBS.

These days Andrew’s betting expertise is focused on his favorite teams – the Toronto Blue Jays and Toronto Raptors. He’s also an avid college football fan and bettor. He can’t be friends with you if you don’t appreciate a Service Academy Under. You can also call him Covers’ Sixth Man, as he regularly steps up to guest host Before You Bet and our MLB and NCAAF release shows.

The sportsbook where he does the bulk of his betting is bet365 thanks to its numerous prop betting options and competitive odds. His best advice? Find the balance between the numbers and what you see on the playing field. Then find the best price using multiple books. And don’t ask him where the nickname Taco comes from. It’s not an interesting story. Seriously.
