Olympic Men's Golf odds and field analysis

Editor's note: This was written at 10:00 a.m. ET on Monday, July 29.

Despite two major championships from Xander Schauffele this season, he's yet to overtake World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler in the weekly odds. The two-time Masters champ enters Paris as a +400 favorite following wins in six of his last 11 starts, most recently the Travelers Championship in late June.

Xander is the No. 2 choice over Rory McIlroy and deservedly so, winning both the PGA Championship and Open Championship this season to go along with Top-8 finishes in the other two majors. He's also the tournament's defending champion after winning gold in Tokyo in 2020.

Rory McIlroy (+850 to +900) and Jon Rahm (+900 to +1,000) slot into the No. 3 and No. 4 spots, with Rahm particularly notable after winning his first LIV Golf event in England last week. However, Collin Morikawa (+1,100) being fifth means Team U.S.A. accounts for three of the first five choices.
