Sports betting in Louisiana will see another retail location opening up this fall, as Caesars Sportsbook is launching a new brick-and-mortar outlet at Harrah’s New Orleans.
The announcement, which was made on Monday, noted that the legal sports betting outlet, plus a new World Series of Poker Room, are just part of a $325-million transformation of the space, which will eventually be changing its name to Caesars New Orleans.
The sportsbook will expand over 5,700 square feet and include top-of-the-line betting infrastructure, with four betting windows, 12 self-serve kiosks, and a viewing area with a 147-foot screen. In addition to the 140 standard seats, the new outlet will also have a Fan Cave, which offers a private viewing experience for up to 10 people.
"Caesars Sportsbook at Harrah's New Orleans will be the foremost sports betting and viewing destination in the southern United States," Dan Real, regional president of Caesars Entertainment, said in the press release announcing the upcoming launch. "This first-class sportsbook will offer an unmatched game-day experience for Louisiana's passionate sports fans and our many visitors to the area."
"At Caesars, we recognize how important sports, entertainment, and hospitality are to Louisiana, and this sportsbook will showcase our continued commitment to the state and its people."
Harrah’s New Orleans (soon to be Caesars New Orleans) is located in the heart of the city's downtown, just a short walk away from the famous French Quarter. With hundreds of hotel rooms and extensive gambling facilities, it’s one of the most well-known and popular casinos in the state — and continues the momentum that Caesars has had since sports betting was legalized in Louisiana in October 2021.
Caesars was the first sportsbook to accept a retail bet at a commercial casino in the state and has also been a major staple since mobile sports betting was launched in Louisiana in late January.
Harrah’s will not be the first retail sportsbook in the state for Caesars, as it also has a presence at Horseshoe Bossier City — and is building another at Horseshoe Lake Charles, which is also expected to open later this year.
Caesars has partnerships with some of the largest brands in Louisiana sports as well. This includes deals with the New Orleans Saints, New Orleans Pelicans, and the entirety of the Louisiana State University athletics program. The company also has its name on the current home of the Saints — the Caesars Superdome.
