Integrity and compliance services provider, IC360, has partnered with Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) operator, Sleeper, to enhance its responsible gambling and integrity systems.

“Integrity and compliance are core to our platform, and we’re excited to partner with IC360 to integrate ProhiBet. This collaboration enhances our ability to prevent prohibited individuals from entering our paid entry contests and reinforces our commitment to a fair and responsible play environment,” said Sleeper’s Director of Legal Affairs, Matt Hagerty.

The partnership will see IC360 integrate its ProhiBet monitoring system into Sleeper. This will give the DFS operator real-time alerts on individuals who may break compliance regulations, including updates on league officials and athletes who sign up. ProhiBet also uses encrypted data exchanges to protect an operator’s databases.

“This partnership with Sleeper underscores IC360’s commitment to expanding the reach of ProhiBet across the sports and gaming ecosystem. By integrating ProhiBet, Sleeper is demonstrating its dedication to maintaining the highest standards of integrity and responsible gaming, ensuring a fair and enjoyable experience for all its users,” commented COO of IC360, Scott Sadin.

Background on Sleeper

Sleeper is a Daily Fantasy Sports operator launched in 2014 and has investments from General Catalyst, Andreessen Horowitz, and Expa. The company was founded by Nan Wang, Henry Leung, Ken Wang, and Weixi Yen, with Nan Wang the current CEO.

The platform is available in many U.S. states, depending on the type of game you play. For example, its Daily Draft game is available in 30 states and Washington D.C., while its Sleeper PicksVS is only permitted in 10 U.S. states and Washington D.C.

The DFS operator is also available in Canada, although it cannot operate in Ontario. The province has faced several challenges regarding the regulation of DFS, including a court case deciding whether DFS operators in Ontario could offer peer-to-peer games to ON residents to compete against players in other jurisdictions.

Compliance in focus for daily fantasy sports operators

Sleeper isn’t the only DFS company that has sought to shore up its compliance in recent times. In March, PrizePicks became the first fantasy sports provider to receive an Internet Compliance Assessment Program (iCAP) accreditation from the National Council on Problem Gambling.

Previously, PrizePicks partnered with IC360 to access the company’s compliance technology in October 2023. Other prominent DFS operators to team up with IC360 include Underdog Fantasy and Betr, with both companies getting access to the ProhiBet system.
