The Indoor Football League has found a new partner that aims to ensure there is no shortage of legal sports betting options for the organization's upcoming championship game.
On Thursday, the IFL announced it is joining forces with the microbetting experts at Simplebet, which is now the league’s “Official Innovation Partner,” a press release said.
The alliance is initially for two years, with the option to extend it further following the end of the 2024 season. That means the users of the sports betting sites served by Simplebet, such as DraftKings, should see a wide variety of microbetting markets for indoor football.
“In this groundbreaking partnership, Simplebet is providing an end-to-end solution for the IFL, including an in-arena data collection team and a sub-5-second low-latency stream, enabling a seamless watch and bet experience for bettors and fans of the IFL teams,” the release said. “Betting options include core pre-match and in-play markets along with a variety of next-drive micro markets like ‘Will this Bay Area Panthers drive result in a touchdown, or will the Sioux Fall Storm’s next drive result in a turnover’ have now become actionable opportunities for IFL fans across the United States.”
Just in time
The timing is apt, as the Panthers and Storm will play each other in the IFL Championship Game on Saturday in Las Vegas. Trying to entice gamblers into wagering and then watching the game appears to be a focus for the IFL, which bills itself as the “longest continuously-running indoor football league and… the second-longest running professional football league in the U.S., after only the National Football League.”
Simplebet, meanwhile, has already taken steps to try to bolster the wagering experience on the IFL where gambling on the league is legal, including in Arizona, Illinois, and New York. For instance, the company said DraftKings customers can make pregame wagers on the final and that Betr Sportsbook users will have in-game options. More video and microbetting markets for the league are on the way.
"We are thrilled to have Simplebet on board as our Official Innovation Partner," said Todd Tryon, commissioner of the IFL, in the press release. "Their cutting-edge technology has already made a significant impact, enhancing the betting experience for fans across our league. We are looking forward to the additional innovations they will bring to the table in the coming seasons.”
