Sporttrade, a betting exchange mobile sports betting app available exclusively on iOS devices, is now live in Iowa. The Philadelphia-based sports betting operator has officially launched in the Hawkeye State, bringing sports bettors in Iowa a brand-new platform predicated on trading sports.
How Sporttrade works
Like the stock market, Sporttrade customers can bet against other players on the app, while Sporttrade takes a percentage via commission. The price of the wager moves up or down over time, allowing users to buy and sell a bet in real time.
Some advantages to Sporttrade include less vig, or juiced lines, compared to traditional online sportsbook operators. Sportrade customers can also set their price on any given matchup against other bettors.
Early cashout is predicated on the number of bettors to ensure a game is priced fairly. Thus, trading can only be made on win or loss outcomes, point spreads, and totals. This feature is available for a wide selection of sports betting markets, including the NFL, college football, MLB, NBA, NHL, and PGA. Prop bets are currently unavailable to be traded at Sporttrade.
Expansion into Iowa
“Today we’re privileged to introduce the Sportrade experience in Iowa," said Sportrade founder and CEO Alex Kane. "Sporttrade isn’t just any old sportsbook. We’re on a relentless mission to transform the way players think about sports betting. Sportrrade will be attractive for sports bettors who want a premium betting experience; higher limits, better prices, and concierge care”
Sportrrade’s strategic partner, Wild Rose Casino & Hotel, believes the collaboration with Sporttrade will represent the future of gaming.
“This partnership solidifies our commitment to providing guests with cutting-edge entertainment and unmatched experiences,” said Brian Diver, president of Wild Rose Entertainment.
Unlike Sporttrade’s presence in Colorado, which doesn’t allow peer-to-peer sports exchange wagering on the Sporttrade mobile app, sports bettors in Iowa can access this unique feature to buy and sell bets while competing against other online users.
Iowa’s coming off of its highest handle in 2024, reaching $272 million in total wagers placed during March 2024. This coincides with the Iowa Hawkeyes’ women’s college basketball team making another run to the National Championship game behind former star guard, Caitlin Clark.
Suffice it to say that Sporttrade is eager to see the results of its brand-new peer-to-peer sports exchange betting app following its debut in Iowa’s sports betting market.
