Two days after Super Bowl LIX and as the City of Brotherly Love prepares for a parade Friday, the Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB) released its official wagering numbers for America's biggest betting event.
Nevada recorded $151.6 million in wagering handle from the state's 186 sportsbooks for Super Bowl LIX. The Philadelphia Eagles routed the Kansas City Chiefs, 40-22, for their second Lombardi Trophy win in franchise history.
The amount wagered was the sixth-highest since 2016, with last year topping all in the last 10 at $190.02 million (5.9%).
Vegas sportsbooks also set a revenue record as their win total came in at $22.13 million (14.6%), eclipsing the previous high of $18.77 million ($12.1%) posted in 2020.
"Unaudited figures show a new all-time record for sportsbook win from the Super Bowl of $22,134,104 was recorded on wagers totaling $151,618,159. This resulted in a hold percentage of 14.6%," said NGCB chairman Kirk Hendrick in a news release.
Sportsbook numbers increase
Vancouver-based GeoComply announced Monday there was a 14% increase in active player accounts across its online sportsbook customers during Super Bowl weekend compared to last year's Big Game weekend.
FanDuel reported a new record of more than 16.6 million Super Bowl bets placed on its platform this year, a 19% increase from 2024. The online book said it had nearly three million users' wagers, and activity peaked at almost 70,000 bets per minute.

Sunday's Super Bowl broadcast brought in an average of 127.7 million viewers, up 3% from last year's 123.7 million average, according to Fox Sports. The overall number encompasses all broadcast platforms including Fox, Fox Deportes, Tubi, Telemundo and the NFL's digital properties.
