Starting pitchers
Robbie Ray (9-5, 2.90 ERA): Ray is putting together his best year since he made the All-Star game in 2017 with the Diamondbacks. He has pitched to a 1.07 WHIP with an opponent batting average of .213 and 159 strikeouts in 130 1-3 innings this season. The veteran lefthander is coming off an excellent performance against the Red Sox where he pitched six scoreless innings and allowed just two hits.
Chris Flexen (10-5, 3.81 ERA): Flexen is having a solid first season in Seattle, pitching to 1.28 WHIP in 21 starts, despite a mediocre opponent batting average of .277. In his last outing, the 27-year-old allowed eight hits and three runs in five innings against the Yankees.

Moneyline pick
Both of these teams are well behind their respective division leaders but are still in the mix for a Wild Card spot. Toronto is 62-52 and has won 12 of its last 16 games, while Seattle has a 61-55 record despite losing five of its previous seven contests.
When it comes to hitting, there is no comparison between these two squads. Thanks in large part to Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (who leads the majors with 88 RBI and an OPS of 1.023), the Jays pace the majors with an OPS of .786 and rank third with 5.18 runs per game.
Meanwhile, the Mariners average just 4.16 runs per game and rank 28th with an OPS of .678. Although part of the reason for those low numbers is that they play their home games at one of the most pitcher-friendly ballparks in the majors, their road OPS of .702 indicates that they're simply not very good at hitting the ball.
That's bad news as they face off against red-hot southpaw Robbie Ray, who gets the start for Toronto. Ray has pitched to a 1.85 ERA with a 0.96 WHIP in his last seven starts and the M's rank dead-last in the majors with a batting average of .224 against lefties.
Seattle will give the ball to Chris Flexen, and while the 27-year-old has been solid this season, he's been nowhere near as effective as Ray, with opponents batting .277 against him.
Seattle is just 0-6 in its last six games against a left-handed starter, and is just 1-4 in its previous five contests against teams with a winning record. On the other hand, the Jays are 6-1 in their last seven against teams with a winning record. Back Toronto on the moneyline.
PREDICTION: ML Toronto (-170)
Over/Under pick
Flexen doesn’t make batters miss, but he is a quality arm who doesn't walk many and is usually able to keep the ball in the park, especially at home, where he boasts a 2.67 ERA in 12 starts this season.
Unfortunately for Mariners fans, the pitching benefits of T-Mobile Park are a double-edged sword that also cut into Seattle's run production. The M's plate just 3.95 runs per game at home with an MLB-worst OPS of .653.
Toronto has bounced around to three different home venues this season, but all of them have been friendly to hitters, resulting in the Jays posting an incredible OPS of .830 at home. However, that OPS drops to a more modest .743 in away contests.
The Blue Jays are 9-4 to the Under in their last 13 games on the road, while the Mariners are 8-1 to the Under in their previous nine contests overall. Take the Under tonight.
PREDICTION: Under 8.5 (+105)
