The Toronto Blue Jays and Seattle Mariners continue their three-game set at T-Mobile Park this afternoon, with the hosts looking to pick up their third straight win.

Both clubs have struggled at the plate of late, as evidenced by Seattle’s 2-1 win last night, which is why I think we’ll likely see another low-scoring affair today.

Keep reading for my Blue Jays vs Mariners predictions and MLB picks for Saturday, July 6.

Blue Jays vs Mariners prediction

My best bet
Under 8.5 runs (-118 at PROLINE+)

My analysis

The Seattle Mariners eked out a 2-1 win against the Toronto Blue Jays in Friday’s series opener thanks to two RBI from Luke Raley and 6 2/3 strong innings from starter Luis Castillo.

Despite the victory, it was another rough night at the plate for the Mariners, who have scored just 13 runs over the past week — second worst in the majors over that span. The Blue Jays have not been much better offensively, with just 15 runs during that time, which is why I’m taking the Under on 8.5 runs as my best bet this afternoon.

Seattle has scored three runs or fewer in six of its last seven games, cashing the Under in five of those outings. Meanwhile, Toronto has been held to three runs or fewer in five of its last six contests, with the Under going 3-2 in its last five games.

Expect runs to be at a premium in the Emerald City this afternoon.

Blue Jays star player prop

My best bet
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Over 0.5 RBI (+145 at PROLINE+)

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts in the series opener to snap a 10-game hit streak, but I like the Jays slugger to get back on track with an RBI this afternoon.

While he hasn’t driven in a run in five straight, Vlad is only a few days removed from a red-hot June where his 25 RBI ranked third among all batters in the majors.

Guerrero should also benefit from his matchup against Mariners starter Emerson Hancock. The right-hander sports a 4.79 ERA through eight starts, and right-handed batters have generally had the upper hand, hitting .280 vs Hancock compared to just .218 for lefties.
