Eugenio Suarez has been one of the more consistent power hitters in the majors over the last several seasons, which is why my MLB player props are betting on him to hit a home run tonight.

I'm also backing A's youngster Tyler Soderstrom and Rays veteran Brandon Lowe with my three favorite home run picks for Friday, April 4.

Best MLB home run props today

HR picks for April 4

Tyler Soderstrom (+600 at bet365)

Oakland Athletics first baseman Tyler Soderstrom began his sophomore season with a bang, jacking a pair of homers in the season opener.

He's coming off a poor series against the Cubs, but is poised to get back on track with the A's heading to Denver today. Coors Field is always a favorable destination for hitters and the left-handed Soderstrom will have the platoon advantage against Colorado Rockies starter Ryan Feltner.

Soderstrom showed his power as a rookie last year, hitting nine homers in 61 games. While he didn't have enough plate appearances to qualify for the leaderboards, his average exit velocity (91.9 mph), barrel rate (14.6%), and hard hit rate (49.6%), would all have been in the Top 10th percentile of the majors.

The 23-year-old is tied for the team lead with three dingers this season and my MLB picks like his value to add to that tally today.

Eugenio Suarez (+450 at BetMGM)

Arizona Diamondbacks infielder Eugenio Suarez is tied for the MLB lead with five home runs this season.

The 33-year-old slugger has hit the 30-home run plateau in five of the last seven seasons. One of the only two seasons where he went below that number was in the COVID-shortened 2020 campaign, and even then he still hit 15 dingers.

Suarez has a good matchup tonight against the Washington Nationals and righty Jake Irvin. Irvin allowed 29 home runs last season, tied for the eighth-most in the majors. The Nats also have one of the worst bullpens in the majors behind him.

Brandon Lowe (+450 at DraftKings)

Tampa Bay Rays second baseman Brandon Lowe has drilled a homer in two of the last four games. The hard-hitting lefty has jacked 21 dingers in each of the past two seasons, despite playing fewer than 110 games each year.

Of those 42 total homers, Lowe hit 24 of them on the road and hit 37 of them against right-handed pitchers. That bodes well for Lowe tonight as the Rays head to Arlington to face the Texas Rangers and righty Tyler Mahle.

Globe Life Field is rated as the fifth-easiest park to hit a home run over the last three years and today there's an 8 mph wind towards the outfield. Mahle hasn't pitched much over the last couple of years due to Tommy John surgery in 2023. However, the veteran is a below-average starter who has pitched to a poor 3.6% home run rate in his career.

Lowe was in the Top 10th percentile in launch angle sweet-spot percentage (39.6%) last season while sitting in the Top 30th percentile in hard hit rate (44.7%). He's swinging the bat even better this year with his sweet-spot percentage surging to 47.1% and his hard hit rate at 64.7%.

  1. Aaron Judge, Yankees, +220
  2. Shohei Ohtani, Dodgers, +290
  3. Marcell Ozuna, Braves, +340
  4. Juan Soto, Mets, +340
  5. Kerry Carpenter, Tigers, +525
