Fernando Tatis Jr. has left the yard in back-to-back games and and I’ll explain in my MLB player props why it’s worth eyeing the superstar to go deep again for the injury-riddled San Diego Padres.

Marcell Ozuna and Aaron Judge will also be included in my home run picks for Monday, April 21.

HR picks for April 21

Fernando Tatis (+250 at Caesars)

Fernando Tatis is having a wonderful campaign for the first-place Padres, slashing .358 with eight homers and 16 RBI. Tatis ranks third in the big leagues in long balls. He just dominated the Houston Astros in a three-game series, smacking five hits, which included two HRs on consecutive days.

San Diego begins a series with the Detroit Tigers tonight, and while he hasn’t faced them a lot in his MLB career, it’s hard to ignore how Tatis is swinging the bat right now. Keider Montero is on the mound for Detroit, and Tatis is 1-for-3 against him lifetime.

The main reason I’m eyeing this bet is due to his power surge lately. Three straight games with a HR would be wild, but given the confidence Tatis Jr has at the moment, this bet is worth a look at favorable +250 odds.

Marcell Ozuna (+280 at Caesars)

The Atlanta Braves have been struggling as a whole, but Marcell Ozuna is a clear bright spot. The veteran is batting .305 so far in 18 games with a .542 slugging percentage and four homers. He left the ballpark on Sunday, his first long ball in four contests.

The Braves begin a series with the St. Louis Cardinals this evening, with St. Louis sending righty Erick Fedde to the hill. He’s not too prone to the home run, but Ozuna in particular has had success against him. The DH is slashing .583 lifetime vs. Fedde with two homers in only 12 at-bats.

On top of that, all of Ozuna’s four bombs have come against RHP. Having confidence against a specific arm is a real thing in the big leagues. Ozuna could continue to terrorize Fedde in tonight’s contest.

Aaron Judge (+190 at Caesars)

How can we discuss home runs without bringing up Aaron Judge? The reigning AL MVP has seven long balls this season in 22 appearances. While the slugger has failed to leave the yard in four straight games, there’s reason to believe that will change tonight.

Firstly, Judge is due. Arguably the best power hitter in the sport doesn’t go too long between games without smacking a homer. Secondly, the Yankees are facing the Cleveland Guardians, and he made their lives a living nightmare last season.

Judge hit .375 against Cleveland in 2024 and went deep five times in only six contests. The Guardians send Gavin Williams to the mound here, and Judge has taken him yard once in three ABs.

The HR drought for the Yankees outfielder could very well end tonight at Progressive Field.
