HR picks for April 26
Byron Buxton 1+ home runs (+340 at DraftKings)
Byron Buxton is staying healthy and having a respectable campaign so far for the Minnesota Twins. In 24 games, he’s hitting .239 with six homers and 15 RBI. The veteran has always shown power in his career, it’s just a matter of steering clear of injuries.
The outfielder has three long balls in his last six appearances and just went deep on Friday night against the Angels, whom Minnesota will face again this afternoon. Four of Buxton’s six HRs have come at Target Field, and he’s batting .260 at home as opposed to .214 on the road.
The Halos send Yusei Kikuchi to the hill here, and Buxton is 3-for-9 lifetime against him. While he hasn’t gone deep versus the southpaw, Buxton is batting .308 against left-handed pitchers.
Mike Trout 1+ home runs (+360 at DraftKings)
Speaking of health, it’s been a while since Mike Trout has remained on the field for a long period. When he is, there’s no question he’s one of the best players in the sport. While he is hitting just .185, the power numbers are elite, cranking nine homers already.
Trout just homered on Friday against the Twins, and he’ll have a favorable matchup this afternoon. Minnesota sends Simeon Woods Richardson to the hill, who has a 4.74 ERA so far. He’s already allowed three long balls in four outings, too.
Richardson’s barrel rate is concerning. Opponents are hitting the baseball extremely hard against him, and with Trout squaring up a lot of pitches these days, he could leave the ballpark for the second straight game.
Kyle Tucker 1+ home runs (+800 at DraftKings)
It’s no secret that Kyle Tucker has been an absolute game-changer for the Cubs’ lineup. He’s batting .308 with seven home runs and 25 RBI so far while slugging .617. Tucker is doing it all for Chicago.
While he only has two homers in his last six games, three of his long balls are against lefties.
The Philadelphia Phillies will send Jesus Luzardo to the hill today, and he has a 2.08 ERA so far. He’s thriving, and that combined with the wind blowing in at Wrigley is why Tucker’s odds here are at a juicy +800. Tucker is only 1-for-13 lifetime versus Luzardo, but guess what that one hit was? A home run.
Tucker is batting .296 at home and seems to be producing offensively, no matter who is on the mound. Yes, Luzardo has given up only one bomb in 2025, but with the odds so steep, why not? Tucker can go deep at any given moment.
